About the Role

Working as part of the eCommerce Trading Team, as part of the product catalogue configuration, this role provides End to End System Integration-Testing of the Virgin Media Web Portal to verify that customers are able to purchase Broadband, TV and Phone Products with a seamless experience, free from defects.

As a team we work closely with digital sales, traffic, production, development, and commercial teams to ensure we are presenting customers+ with right fit propositions and compelling content to convert prospects in channel as well as generating prospect leads for customers channel of choice.

Key KPIs

  • Defects: Reduction in live defects; finding ways to improve our building processes as well as finding all possible defects before going to production.
  • Incident Fixes: Supporting our Trading and tech teams when incidents are found, finding the route cause as quickly as possible to save loss in orders.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities

Be our Senior test lead for our eCommerce department, taking more accountability for our website and highlighting bugs outside of our promotional activity. Having dotted and direct test report lines with our other trading and content testers.

Being our catalogue SME, joining initial planning meetings to emphasise issues early, and potential workarounds that we can investigate.

Supporting our external demand team where required, whether it be for testing capacity or even advice on approaches and issues.

This role includes the testing of frequent, short-term Business as Usual (BAU) propositions (Flash Sales, Value Added Promotions, Direct Marketing Offers, Affiliates Offers etc) to meet Customer Acquisition targets, but also projects (ATL Price changes, Product Changes etc) to support the longer-term Digital Strategy.

Analysis of Digital / Technical Requirements to formulate Test Plans and Test Cases to ensure Testing is carried out efficiently and provides an accepted level of quality for planned Releases.

Testing of the Product Catalogue Configuration to validate that the specified Products and Bundles are correctly added to the Cart as per Requirements from Commercial collaborators.

Testing of the full end-to-end customer acquisition journey to verify that Products have been set up as expected and once selected are not blocked by any defects within the tiers of the Virgin Media Portal Architecture and validated in the Virgin Media’s Billing System.

Timely reporting of defects to the relevant teams for bug fixes and to chase resolutions when necessary. Undertake re-testing to verify that issues are resolved and closed.

To liaise with internal customers for project briefings and Requirement clarification.

To hand over any tested propositions or project testing to the UAT team with an accepted level of quality and provide on hand support.

To support Over - Night Release Testing as and when required.

Wanting to improve our quality assurance and landing of new promotional propositions, to ensure our customer experience is expected from landing page to email confirmation.

Highlighting issues into product backlogs that could potential increase overall CVR and ultimately our yearly order objectives.

Willingness to learn and provide expertise into our Content, sales 1 and 2 feature squads if ever required and capacity allows for it.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Shown experience as a Test engineer / Test Analyst Background in Ecommerce or Website Testing.
  • Solid understanding of Jira
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle / methodologies (Agile / Waterfall)
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and comfortable liaising with various different internal team members
  • Happy to work in a fast paced environment where priorities can often change at short notice depending on the needs of the business

  • Has previously worked in the Telecoms / Media industry
  • Automation Testing knowledge / Setting up frameworks with Dev Ops experience (Git Lab)
