Join the Data Engineering Chapter, the heart of Tesco Mobile's data operations, where your work powers the business by capturing and managing rich customer interaction data. This data enables us to deliver outstanding customer experiences while driving innovation and profitability.
As a valued member of our team, you'll tackle challenges with inventive, resilient solutions. You’ll dive into the entire development lifecycle, drawing on your expertise in data modelling, process design, development, and testing. Our primary tools include SQL stored procedures, scripting, and Power BI, though we're on an exciting journey to transition our data into an Azure/Databricks environment—an opportunity to work at the forefront of data engineering and advance our data modernisation strategy.
You’ll collaborate closely with Product Owners, delivering capabilities where they’ll have the most business impact.

The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
- Proven experience in SQL Server development with a strong focus on stored procedures.
- Skilled in handling large data feeds and files.
- Solid understanding of GDPR compliance and data management best practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities for data-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical audiences, including third-party suppliers.
- Effective team player with a collaborative approach to achieve shared goals.
The other stuff we are looking for
We'd also love you to bring;
- Experience in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
