Job Description

We have some excellent opportunities to join Virgin Media O2 as a Pre-sale Technical Advisor!

Working as part of a technical desk, predominantly be involved in providing technical support to assist Sales colleagues with technical qualification of opportunities with a total contract value of Circa £1m. Through direct engagement with both customer and sales team members, the successful candidates will be responsible for understanding the scope of the customer requirement, offering advice and guidance on product features/functions/limitations, and helping to propose a solution comprised of the VMO2 standard product/service best suited.

Our Pre-sale Technical Advisor acts as an interface between the sales teams, customers, and the broader solution design department and have accountability for gathering a full and accurate statement of requirements to underpin the customer’s objectives. These statements of requirements will be used by the Solutions Architecture teams to ensure a valid solution is designed, costed, documented, and fully approved through applicable operational governance.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Confident to help our Sales teams in at least one of the following product offerings, Data & Security (IPVPN/SD-WAN/DIA/SIA/HCS), Digital Workplace & Voice (MS Teams Voice/MS Teams Phone Mobile/Webex/EUC/MDM, LAN Solutions (Cisco/Meraki Hardware and Licensing)
  • Experience in a customer facing environment and confident present complex technical solutions, in industry standard formats to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to understand and present matching solutions to customer requirements.
  • A working understanding of Pre-Sales processes, forecasting and bid stages.

  • Capture technical requirements and convert into a coherent document to hand over to Solutions Architects.
  • Develop and maintain a technical knowledge across the VMO2 Product Portfolio.
  • An inquisitive nature to understand customers’ business drivers.
  • An awareness of new and emerging technologies.
