The Lead Product Owner is accountable for the strategic direction, governance, and value delivery of critical network platforms within the Digital End State Transformation. This role provides leadership across a portfolio of capabilities and products, ensuring they are architected, developed, and operated to meet evolving business needs, security standards, and operational excellence.

Acting as the voice of the product at the enterprise level, the Lead Product Owner defines and drives the product vision, aligning it with transformation goals, technology strategy, and business outcomes. They indirectly lead a team of Supplier Product Owners and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including architecture and business stakeholders to define and deliver a clear product vision, prioritised backlog, and transformation roadmap.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities

  • Own the product / platform vision, roadmap and long-term strategy in close alignment with retained architecture function.
  • Validate multiple product/platform backlogs with broader product/platform or programme goals.
  • Guide supplier PO prioritisation of individual backlogs based on product/platform roadmap which is in turn based on broader business direction and market needs.
  • Ensure consistency and integration across different supplier teams / squad outputs.
  • Collaborate closely with architecture function to align tactical execution with strategic direction.
  • Resolve cross-team dependencies and priorities.
  • Act as the link between supplier delivery leads and business stakeholder to ensure delivery aligns to agreed goals of the product/platform.
  • Define quarterly goals, what success looks like, KPIS and Metrics to measure targets.
  • Business case definition in alignment with supplier, guiding on investment vs benefit.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Proficiency in navigating the complexities of telecom networks
  • Proven experience working as a Product/Platform Owner
  • Experience using agile tools such as Jira or ADO
  • Familiar with assisting Development or Delivery teams
  • Working knowledge and experience of the B2B market segment, associated network topologies & capabilities.
  • Knowledge of effective product lifecycle management across a complex environment is necessary
