Job Description

Support the Technology Behind Millions of Pet Care Deliveries!

At Pets at Home, technology plays a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly and ensuring pets and pet parents receive the products they need, when they need them. We're looking for a Software Support Specialist (WMS) to become a key part of our team, supporting the Warehouse Management System that powers our distribution network.

About the Role

In this hands-on role, you'll provide 2nd/3rd line support for our WMS platform, helping to resolve incidents, deliver system improvements, support change activity and work closely with operational teams to keep our fulfilment centre running efficiently.

The role is based at our Fulfilment Centre in Stafford. Most of your working week will be on-site with some occasional travel required to our Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire) and other locations.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Providing technical and functional support for WMS incidents, service requests and operational queries
  • Investigating issues, performing root cause analysis and driving resolutions with internal teams and third-party partners
  • Supporting system changes, upgrades, testing and maintenance activities
  • Working directly with operational stakeholders to gather requirements and improve system performance
  • Monitoring WMS and interface performance, identifying opportunities for optimisation and automation
  • Supporting IT audit, risk and compliance activities, ensuring documentation and evidence are maintained to a high standard
  • Building strong relationships across Operations, IT and external suppliers to deliver excellent service

About you

We're looking for someone with experience in application support, systems administration or warehouse systems support, who enjoys solving problems and working collaboratively with stakeholders.

You'll bring:

  • Experience supporting incidents, problems and change requests within an IT environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions
  • Experience maintaining support documentation, knowledge articles and change records
  • An organised, detail-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • An understanding of IT controls, audit requirements or compliance processes
  • Given the requirement to travel on occasion, holding a valid UK driving license is preferrable

Experience of Warehouse Management Systems, distribution centre operations or supply chain technology would be highly advantageous!

Why Pets at Home?

You'll join a business that's investing heavily in technology, innovation and automation, working in a role where your expertise will have a direct impact on the performance of one of the UK's leading pet care retailers.

Ready to help keep our fulfilment centre moving? Apply today and be part of something special.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
