What you’ll be doing...
Regulatory & Government Affairs Managers manage and support efforts to support our engagement with regulators and to advance Verizon’s regulatory and legislative interests. They also are policy professionals and experts in specific issues and provide coordinated advice and support across the Public Policy team working with the FCC, Congress, federal, state and international agencies.
What we’re looking for...
Managing Dockets - Monitors proceedings and matters of interest in regulatory, spectrum, or judicial databases.
Regulatory and Legislative Strategy and Advocacy - Works with the business and public policy team colleagues to develop and advocate positions that advance company's interest before federal (e.g., the FCC), state, and international regulators, as well as state legislatures, the US Congress and regulators and government bodies in markets outside the U.S. This involves developing, and handling and advising the business with regard to complex technical and economic issues.
Relationship Management - Build strong and effective internal/external relationships to be effective in meeting the needs of the business.
Research and Document Preparation - Performs research and drafts documents to advance our regulatory strategy. Work includes responsibility for preparing, proofreading, and filing regulatory and legislative documents, as well as project managing regulatory dockets.
They also monitor any specific subject matters and or the full portfolio of regulatory and policy matters in specific geographic markets.
They also provide support to the business for ensuring compliance with new and existing rules and regulations and advocate for policies and regulations that advance Verizon's global interests.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
