You will explore what our people need to learn to be even better. Your programs and learning approaches will align with our business needs and be highly effective and in tune with our culture. You’ll craft learning solutions that are engaging, fun and most importantly build those capabilities needed to enable our people to create the Verizon of the future.
As a Consultant of Instructional Design, you will be primarily responsible for confirming analysis, formulating measurable objectives, creating an engaging design, and building learning experiences in a myriad of delivery methods. You will be interfacing daily with Verizon professionals to receive, analyze, prioritize, and create job-impacting, highly engaging learning experiences. The training delivery methods focus on all aspects of learning: face-to-face lab-based, live virtual learning, asynchronous eLearning modalities, curating pathway development and performance support systems.
Responsibilities include:
Serving as an internal expert on instructional design best practices and approaches to internal clients and subject matter experts.
Crafting innovative learning solutions.
Owning and leading learning projects end-to-end (setting meeting cadences, hosting design calls, reporting project status, scheduling ad-hoc meetings with subject matter experts to gather content, etc.)
Creating communication and evaluation plans with clients.
Working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Setting project schedules, independently managing day-to-day tasks, and communicating progress/issues.
Reporting project status to both L&D and client leaders.
Evaluating program efficiency and continuously improving our solutions.
Appropriately managing, storing, and archiving learning assets.
Partnering with the Delivery and Operations L&D teams when needed for development consultation and delivery support, such as “train-the-trainer”.
Formulating measurable learning objectives and evaluating learning interventions’ success.
Utilizing multiple systems and tools for developing and launching courses (Workday LMS, Storyline, Rise, Learning Album, video and audio editing software, graphics software).
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience.
Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
Willingness to work on US-based hours.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience creating learning programs.
Project/program management experience.
Learning and development experience.
Demonstrated expertise with ADDIE and SAM training development models.
Experience using Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, or other learning development platforms.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and training approaches.
Client relationship management experience.
Handled projects effectively balancing timeliness and quality.
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp technology and technical concepts.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills; the ability to story tell in word and illustration.
Experience with Level 3 and 4 evaluations of training programs.
Experience in designing for different modalities: ILT, vILT, eLearning, highly engaging lab-based experiences, performance support.
Experience with rapid eLearning development, creation of digital assets and other media creation (videos, graphics, and illustrations).
Experience consulting with internal clients.
Experience collaborating with teams inside and outside your organization.
Global Network & Technology experience.
Previous instructional design experience.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
User experience design.
