About Us

£46,359.00 + Bonus + Outstanding Benefits
Lingley Mere, Warrington (Hybrid Working)
Permanent | Full Time | 37 Hours Per Week

At United Utilities, we're delivering one of the largest and most ambitious capital investment programmes in the UK, investing in the future of water, wastewater and environmental improvement across the North West.

As part of this transformation, we're looking for a Telemetry Coordinator to play a critical role in ensuring our operational technology, telemetry and control systems are ready to support the successful delivery and handover of new assets.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in telemetry, SCADA, commissioning, operational handover or technical project coordination who wants to work at the centre of major infrastructure projects that make a real difference to millions of customers and the environment.

Why This Role Matters

Telemetry is fundamental to the safe and efficient operation of our water and wastewater networks.

As a Telemetry Coordinator, you'll ensure telemetry systems are planned, tracked, tested and accepted in line with programme requirements, enabling successful commissioning and operational takeover of critical assets.

Acting as the link between project teams, operational teams, commissioning specialists and technical stakeholders, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and on time.

This is a planning, assurance and coordination role with significant visibility across our Capital Delivery Programme and the opportunity to influence outcomes on some of the most important projects in the business.

What You'll Be Doing

Coordinating Telemetry Delivery

  • Coordinate a portfolio of telemetry projects across our Water, Wastewater or Better Rivers programmes.
  • Ensure telemetry activities are planned and delivered in line with the project delivery lifecycle.
  • Track key milestones, deliverables and programme commitments.
  • Ensure the telemetry delivery process is followed consistently across all projects.

Driving Collaboration Across Teams

  • Act as the key point of contact between project delivery teams, Operational Technology teams, Commissioning teams, Integrated Control Centre (ICC) and Operations.
  • Coordinate stakeholders to ensure telemetry requirements are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across multiple teams and delivery partners.
  • Build strong relationships to support successful project outcomes.

Providing Assurance and Governance

  • Review telemetry deliverables to ensure consistency, quality and compliance with business standards.
  • Support operational readiness by ensuring telemetry requirements are completed before operational takeover.
  • Monitor project progress and identify risks, issues and constraints.
  • Escalate resource challenges and programme risks to the Telemetry Lead where required.

Managing Delivery Performance

  • Own and maintain telemetry project trackers and reporting tools.
  • Provide clear visibility of programme progress, risks and upcoming milestones.
  • Support effective planning and prioritisation across a diverse portfolio of projects.
  • Drive accountability and timely delivery across all stakeholders.

Supporting Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with the development and standardisation of telemetry deliverables and documentation.
  • Contribute to improvements in telemetry processes, templates and best practice.
  • Help create greater consistency across project delivery and operational handover activities.

Protecting Operational Takeover Success

  • Develop strong relationships with Operational Takeover teams.
  • Ensure telemetry deliverables support operational readiness and regulatory commitments.
  • Collaborate closely with operational stakeholders to minimise risks during handover.
  • Support the successful integration of assets into the live operational environment.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly organised and collaborative individual who can coordinate technical activities, manage competing priorities and build strong relationships across a complex project environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Good understanding of telemetry systems, SCADA and control system integration.
  • Experience working within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing or other process-led industries.
  • Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide assurance and challenge where required.
  • Experience working within fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting commissioning activities.
  • Understanding of operational handover or operational readiness processes.
  • Exposure to water, wastewater or environmental infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with operational technology (OT) environments.
  • Knowledge of project delivery and asset lifecycle processes.
  • Experience maintaining project trackers and delivery reporting.
