The Role:

We have a opportunity for a Network Performance Engineer. You will minimise any risk, improve and maintain our service delivery and regulatory standards, i.e. the continuous supply of quality water, delivered in a safe and efficient way, focusing on optimisation of the network.

Provide analytical expertise, using available data and communication with colleagues, directed at optimising the performance of the water network. You will also act as an engineering expert advisor to local colleagues to support rapid issue resolution and capital works promotion

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Optimise Water Network Performance: Use bottom-up analysis, DOMS, and hydraulic modelling to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operation of the water network.
  • Lead Risk & Investment Planning: Identify service and regulatory risks, champion timely network investments, and escalate issues through Integrated Asset Planning (IAP).
  • Provide Technical & Engineering Support: Deliver expert advice across teams and contractors, support incident response, and promote capital and non-core maintenance schemes.
  • Ensure Service Delivery & Compliance: Manage tactical actions, DG2 performance, planning applications, and pressure/flow standards to maintain service levels and regulatory compliance.
  • Support Strategy & Team Development: Assist in implementing regional strategies, maintain network schematics, and train new staff and apprentices.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Decision-Making & Problem Solving: Confident in making operational decisions and developing solutions to complex technical and analytical challenges.
  • Technical Expertise & Experience: Extensive water network experience or proven technical capability in a related field, with hands-on project delivery knowledge.
  • Regulatory & Asset Management Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, asset management principles, capital investment, and financial procedures.
  • Systems & Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using business systems such as My Risk, Netbase, MapInfo, INS, Water Quality Infobank, SharePoint, plus solid Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Hydraulic Modelling & Analytical Skills: Working knowledge of hydraulic modelling and the ability to apply analytical techniques to support network optimisation and risk assessment.
  • This role may not be eligible for the visa sponsorship
