The Role
We're looking for a Data Maintenance Assistant to join our team and play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, quality and tracking of critical wastewater and addressing data.
You'll support the day-to-day processing of work, monitor progress against deadlines, maintain high data quality standards and help keep essential business information up to date.
What you'll be doing
- Review and validate incoming work requests, ensuring they meet agreed quality standards and returning any that require correction.
- Monitor and report on data quality, identifying trends and escalating any concerns relating to accuracy, volumes or processing times.
- Log, register and track updates through to completion, ensuring records are maintained accurately and progress is clearly monitored.
- Coordinate work for capture within GIS systems and ensure all completed updates are recorded within the relevant databases and business systems.
- Utilise a range of systems and tools, including SharePoint, Salesforce, ProjectWise and Microsoft Office, to support workflows and maintain accurate records.
- Produce regular reports to support workflow monitoring, performance tracking and team planning activities.
- Support the Wastewater and Addressing team in maintaining high-quality data and delivering service commitments and performance targets.
- Provide guidance and support to new and existing team members, helping to share knowledge and best practice.
- Assist with system enhancements and changes by participating in testing activities and providing user feedback where required.
- Contribute to audits, projects, meetings and other departmental activities as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and data quality, and participate in improvement initiatives and working groups.
What we're looking for
- A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, which you will be required to evidence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with experience of systems such as Salesforce, SharePoint and ProjectWise desirable.
- An understanding of wastewater networks and how they are represented and managed within operational systems.
- Knowledge of address data and its application within business and corporate systems.
- The ability to interpret and work from technical drawings, plans and data from a variety of sources.
- A flexible and proactive approach, with a willingness to support different areas of the team to meet business priorities and deadlines.
- Strong planning, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with pride in delivering quality work.
- Experience using GIS systems for data entry, maintenance and management would be advantageous.
