Job Description

The role:

As a Business Analyst (Land), you’ll support the analysis and sharing of land data, transforming complex information into clear, actionable insights. Working closely with the Senior Business Analyst (Land), you’ll help develop strategic plans and regulatory outputs, while promoting strong data practices across the organisation.

You’ll also play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our land database, ensuring data is captured consistently and aligned with corporate standards. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to shaping sustainable land use and supporting wider business objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analysing and collating land data to identify risks, opportunities and inform strategic decision-making
  • Supporting the development of decision-making tools to optimise land use outcomes (e.g. water quality, carbon, biodiversity and low carbon energy)
  • Developing and improving approaches to land data collection, management and integration with corporate systems
  • Tracking and analysing delivery of land schemes to support internal and external reporting
  • Contributing to landscape-scale initiatives (such as Landscape Recovery Schemes) with external stakeholders
  • Undertaking data and geospatial analysis to support land strategy and sub-strategies (e.g. access and recreation)
  • Supporting communication of land strategy activities to both internal and external audiences
  • Collaborating with land, catchment and operational teams to balance a wide range of land-based services

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Strong knowledge of land management, environmental practices and the water industry
  • Understanding of how land and catchment activities impact downstream services
  • Advanced data analysis and visualisation skills (e.g. GIS, Excel, Tableau or similar tools)
  • Ability to interrogate data, identify trends and translate findings into business insights
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences
  • Awareness of environmental, social and political drivers shaping land use
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A proactive approach to learning and continuous development

This role may not be eligible for sponsorship
