Night Manager

Job Description

Join TUI Hotels & Resorts as Night Manager responsible for overseeing the smooth operational running of the hotel throughout the evening and in absence of the Front of House Manager. To act as a manager on duty for the hotel and to deal with and resolve any complaints, problems, disturbances, special requests, or any other enquiries.

This role is located at The Mora Zanzibar. Appliations close on or before Monday 19th May.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Front Office department making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set in the employee handbook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training, and correcting where needed.
  • Direct and oversee all hotel operations during the night shift to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
  • Conduct Briefing for all staff during the Night Shift.
  • Inform all Overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.
  • Check accommodations, make sure any special requests are carried out accordingly, greet guests upon arrival, and ensure escort to accommodations if appropriate.
  • Always maintain a professional and high-quality service-oriented environment.
  • Act as manager on duty for the hotel in the absence of the Front Office Manager dealing with complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests, and any other issues that may arise.
  • Occasionally Assist guests with their luggage, be a point of contact for our guests, valet park guests’ cars, and other responsibilities to ensure all requirements are met during our guest’s stay.
  • Must actively participate in the decision-making process on guest relocation for nights when over capacity, execute accordingly, and ensure a smooth relocation process. This effort must be coordinated with the Front Office Manager and/or Manager on Duty before the shift starts.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, assigning nightly work, conducting training, conducting counselling and evaluations, and delivering recognition and reward.
  • Ensure the accurate completion of the daily night audit in a timely fashion.
  • Must be able to perform the full night audit.
  • Oversee preparation of daily summary reports.
  • Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life safety procedures.
  • Remain current in all updates about new procedures and training.
  • Report any suspicious persons, activities, and/or hazardous conditions to the respective department and/or the Front Office Manager.

ABOUT YOU

  • Our ideal candidate has 7 or more years of experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in a leadership role Previous experience working within a fast- paced 5* hotel environment.
  • Strong motivational skills and ability to successfully lead a diverse and cohesive team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Polite, pleasant demeanour with a neat appearance.
  • Possesses creativity, professionalism, and human resources management capabilities.
  • Capable of handling pressure and resolving guest requests and complains.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks such as cost management while maintaining operational standards.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
