Job Description

Trainline Advertising’s vision is to offer the most marketplace-centric advertising to connect rail and coach travellers with advertisers at the right moments. Trainline Advertising will enable advertisers to engage with our customers through the entire marketing funnel - from awareness through to purchase and loyalty.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ad Sales Planning & Optimisation Manager to join our Advertising team. You will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our digital advertising campaigns across various clients and platforms. The role broadly covers three areas of responsibility: 1) assisting the ad sales team with media plans and pitches, 2) successful execution and optimisation of programmatic and direct advertising campaigns, 3) client relationship management to nurture and grow our advertising accounts, and 4) establishing internal operational processes related to the sales and execution of on-platform and off-platform campaigns.

You will work cross-functionally with internal teams including Ad Sales, Supply, Brand and Marketing, to achieve these objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in ad operations, a deep understanding of the digital advertising landscape and ad technologies and is an expert in Google Ad Manager.

What you will do

  • Manage relationships and grow revenue from existing advertising accounts across programmatic and direct.

  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of digital advertising campaigns, including campaign setup, trafficking, and monitoring to ensure accurate and timely delivery of ads.

  • Continuously monitor campaign performance and implement optimization strategies to maximize performance and revenue.

  • Generate regular reports on campaign performance, including key metrics, trends, and actionable recommendations for optimization.

  • Resolve ad delivery, ad quality, and technical issues, liaising with the relevant teams for support as needed.

  • Define, implement and manage operational processes that support growth of Trainline advertising business across both programmatic advertising and direct campaigns.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

You will be a smart, data-driven, commercially minded individual ready to take on the exciting opportunity of being a founding member of an ad organization within a business with meaningful growth and purpose.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the advertising sector, either publisher/agency side or in ad tech, focusing on operations

  • Mastery of working in, and troubleshooting across, ad-servers and programmatic buying/selling platforms (Google Ad Manager experience essential)

  • Deep knowledge of ad tech and experience managing relationships with advertising clients, DSPs, and other vendors

  • Demonstrated experience in extracting actionable insights and developing business strategies from data

  • Demonstrated experience with building and nurturing client relationship management
