Junior Software Engineer (C#)

Job Description

This is a role for someone who's just getting started — and is genuinely excited about where that journey could take them.

We're not looking for someone who's got it all figured out. We're looking for someone curious, ambitious, and hungry to grow. Platform development at tombola means working on the systems that power one of the UK's biggest gaming sites — built entirely in-house, by people who care about doing things properly.

You'll learn from experienced developers, contribute to real work from day one, and be part of a team that takes quality seriously — without taking itself too seriously.

What you'll be doing 🧠

• Writing code and contributing to real tombola codebases — from your first week

• Participating in agile ceremonies — standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming

• Getting stuck in through pair programming, pull requests, and code reviews

• Debugging issues and helping to keep our applications healthy

• Learning how to break down problems and deliver work incrementally

• Growing your understanding of testing, quality, and good engineering practices

• Some programming experience — whether that's through study, side projects, bootcamp, or a first role

• A genuine interest in how software is built and how it can be done better
