Job Description

As a Supply Chain Manager, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end planning and flow of stock from suppliers through our Distribution Centres to our branches. Using data, insight and strong supplier relationships, you’ll help minimise inventory, maximise availability and ensure we deliver our service level and stockholding targets. You’ll lead and develop your team, drive continuous improvement and ensure effective planning across promotions, seasonal demand and new product launches.

  • Managing stockholding levels to achieve service level targets while minimising excess inventory.

  • Ensuring effective intake planning and adherence to the correct processes.

  • Managing delisted stock and overstocks in line with company targets.

  • Building strong relationships with key suppliers through our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) approach.

  • Identifying seasonal demand and sales trends, ensuring proactive plans are in place to maximise availability and sales.

  • Providing clear insights and prompts to Supply Planners to support effective decision-making.

  • Ensuring new product launches are planned effectively to maximise sales and minimise handling across branches and Distribution Centres.

  • Regularly reviewing Route to Market (RTM) to optimise costs and service levels.

  • Ensuring promotion forecasts are completed on time, reviewing forecast accuracy, escalating issues and supporting post-promotion clearance plans.

  • Leading reviews of underperforming suppliers and overseeing root cause analysis to address issues and improve performance.

  • Working with IT to resolve system issues and ensure appropriate escalation.

  • Leading, coaching and developing your team through regular one-to-ones, annual reviews and talent development.

  • Managing supplier relationships and supporting the delivery of category profit plans, sales plans and budgets.

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory and ethical requirements.

  • Extensive experience in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) and experience leading a team.

  • A proven ability to work autonomously, solve problems and make sound commercial decisions.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, produce reports and maintain accurate records.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to turn insights into effective supply chain plans.

  • A good understanding of relevant markets and industry developments.

  • The ability to work flexibly, adapt your approach and manage competing priorities.

  • Experience building effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • The ability to develop people, improve team performance and deliver against business objectives.
