Job Description

The Product Analytics and Experimentation team sits within the Data, Analytics and AI directorate in the Technology department. Our mission is to deliver insightful and actionable data through reporting, analysis, and experimentation, with a focus on establishing best-practice processes and enabling data-driven decision making across all supported product teams. The team supports a variety of digital products, among which are the Tesco Groceries & Clubcard app, self-checkout tills in stores, and the Search and Recommenders APIs.
Everything is underpinned by our continuous drive for the best tools and technology to deliver our vision. We’re driving innovation and transforming our Technology to become the world’s leading e-commerce business.
We need people who share our ambition to deliver for our customers; Passionate and confident people willing to take the initiative and drive us forwards. In return we offer excitement, a great team, an excellent benefit package, and significant career development opportunities.
At Tesco, you’ll find a world-class data environment with the Tesco Analytics Platform – all of our analytics, sales and customer data in one place. Our team offers unparalleled opportunities to gain fantastic big data analytics experience while working extremely closely with the key decision-makers in the business.
Joining us means playing a part in defining, building and launching an ambitious roadmap of digital products that could affect the lives of millions of people over the years to come.
The position can be based either in our office in Farringdon, London, or in our head office in Welwyn Garden City, with some occasional travel to the other office required.
If that sounds exciting then we'd love to hear from you. This role is within the Online Customer Experience Product Analytics team. You’ll partner with CX product teams across the Online shopping space – primarily focused on delivering improvements to the core digital experiences which are consistent across all shopping methods, with potential for some specific support of some of our newer propositions in Online, such as Clothing and Tesco Marketplace. You could be working on analytics of the digital experience of what customers should see entering our site or app, improving search and browse experiences to help customers find the right products, or even enabling customers to pay through the most effortless and simple methods which work for them.
Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience, and influence without authority.• Working effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and understanding how to contribute to the product development lifecycle.• Analysing digital customer journeys with strong commercial awareness• Intermediate to advanced SQL for analysis and reporting, combining multiple data sources• Storytelling with data using dashboard tools, preferably Tableau • Strong Adobe Analytics or similar tools to analyse digital customer journeys and build custom segments• University degree of 2:1 or higher in a quantitative discipline or relevant experience
Personal:• Strong drive to learn, adapt, and deliver in product area that requires balance of customer and business needs. • Enjoys building strong relationships with peers and leadership in product, business, and data teams.• Being a self-starter; motivated to plan and deliver high quality work.• Actively seek better ways of doing things, intellectually curious to develop and learn. You might know us as a supermarket, technology company or even for our award-winning mobile network. Truth is, we’re all of those things, and much more. Our colleagues work with one goal in mind, helping to make every day a little better for our customers, colleagues and communities all over the world. No two customers are the same, neither are our colleagues. At Tesco, we champion a balance that lets you thrive both in and out of work. Spend 60% of your week collaborating with colleagues at our office locations or local sites and the rest remotely. Whether you're just kicking off your career, juggling passions, or navigating big life events, we're here to support you.
