The Commercial Product team is at the heart of transforming how Tesco buys, prices and manages products for our customers. We build the technology, data and product capabilities that enable better decisions, stronger commercial outcomes and improved experiences for colleagues across the business.
Within this team, the Price domain plays a critical role in shaping how Tesco delivers value to customers. Pricing decisions influence millions of customer interactions every week and are central to how we balance customer perception, competitiveness and business performance.
We're on an ambitious transformation journey to fundamentally change how pricing works across Tesco. Moving beyond traditional approaches, we're building a future powered by data, science, AI and modern product thinking. This is a rare opportunity to help shape products that will redefine how pricing decisions are made at scale at Tesco.
In this role, you will:
Help shape the future of how pricing decisions are made across Tesco
Work on products that enable data-led and science-led decision making
Simplify complex pricing challenges through intuitive user experiences and product capabilities
Partner with commercial, engineering, data science and analytics teams to solve high-value business problems
Define and support the adoption of new ways of working, helping colleagues make better and faster pricing decisions
Contribute to the evolution of AI-enabled experiences that improve decision making, insight generation and productivity
Success in this role would look like:
Products that deliver measurable improvements in business and customer outcomes
Colleagues increasingly trusting and adopting data-led recommendations and insights
Pricing decisions becoming easier, faster and more effective
Improved operational efficiency through better tooling, automation and user experience
Delivery of meaningful outcomes that improve how Tesco makes pricing decisions
You will operate at the intersection of product, technology, data science and commercial teams, helping translate complex challenges into products that create real business value.
Joining our product team, you'll contribute directly to Tesco's purpose of serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day, while helping shape the future of one of retail's most important commercial capabilities.
Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:
Reporting to the Lead Product Manager, you will:
Own and develop product capabilities within the Price domain
Work closely with users to understand problems, identify opportunities and validate solutions
Define clear product outcomes and success measures aligned to business objectives
Translate strategy into prioritised roadmaps, initiatives and delivery plans
Partner with engineering, design, analytics and data science teams throughout the product lifecycle
Use customer insight, research and data to make informed product decisions
Drive discovery activities to ensure teams are solving the right problems
Balance short-term priorities with longer-term strategic objectives
Navigate ambiguity, making informed decisions and helping others align around a clear direction
Champion an outcomes-over-output mindset, ensuring delivery remains focused on measurable value
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business and technology functions
Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, experiences and decision making across pricing
We are looking for candidates who enjoy solving complex problems, working across technology and business teams, and delivering meaningful outcomes in ambiguous environments.
This role is suited to someone who is curious, motivated and excited by transformation. You'll be comfortable challenging existing thinking, bringing clarity to uncertainty, and helping shape the future of how pricing decisions are made at Tesco.
We're interested in people with strong product instincts, a passion for learning, and the ambition to make a real impact through data, technology and customer-focused thinking.
We know great candidates may not meet every requirement. If this role excites you and you believe you could make an impact, we'd encourage you to apply.
