Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to an office location 2 days per week for this position.

We’re looking for an IT Service Continuity Manager to join our Insurance Money and Services team.

The IT Service Continuity Manager is responsible for ensuring the resilience and continuity of IT services within Tesco IMS.

You'll focus on developing, implementing, and maintaining IT Service Continuity management strategies to minimise the impact of disruptions, including destructive cyber incidents (such as ransomware) and catastrophic destructive attacks. You'll collaborate with various departments to ensure robust recovery plans are in place and conduct continuous assessments and improvements to ensure compliance with industry best practices.

This role is pivotal in safeguarding Tesco IMS’ IT services, ensuring preparedness to face disruptions and can recover swiftly to maintain operations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design and maintain an IT Service Continuity framework in alignment with organisational policies and best practices
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in IT services and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Perform Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to determine the criticality of IT services and establish recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO)
  • Create and oversee the development of IT Service Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans, ensuring they are regularly tested and updated
  • Creation and documentation of destructive-attack recovery plans, including testing activities (recovery drills, clean‑room rebuilds), modelling of destructive attack scenarios in BIAs and assessment of destructive attack risks (e.g., segmentation, immutable backups)
  • Lead training sessions and awareness programs for staff on IT service continuity procedures and practices
  • Collaborate with the Incident Management team to investigate service disruptions and initiate appropriate recovery actions
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of continuity plans, procedures, and any changes made to them
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Prepare reports for senior management and regulators as required.

We need you to have

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Cyber resilience experience
  • Experience contributing to destructive attack recovery efforts attacks (ransomware, wiper malware), including:
    • Immutable/offline backups
    • Mass encryption recovery
    • AD/AAD recovery
    • Clean room rebuilds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a strategic focus during crises
  • Proficient in IT service management tools and technologies
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Service Management, including roles that focus on Disaster Recovery and service continuity
  • Proven track record of developing successful IT Service Continuity plans and managing disaster recovery processes
  • Experience in risk management and risk assessment methodologies
  • Experience of working with cross-functional teams including third party service providers
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements relevant to IT continuity, such as PCI DSS, GDPR, or similar frameworks.

  • COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies)
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
  • Incident response focused certifications (e.g., GCIH, GCIR, CCIR)
  • Candidates who can demonstrate a proactive approach to IT Service Continuity and possess a combination of technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and leadership skills will be highly valued.
