The opportunity
Shieldpay is a multi-award winning provider of secure payment solutions to the legal industry.Our platform enables leading Legal and Services firms to successfully complete complex payments across a multitude of transaction types including M&A, Litigation and Commercial real-estate.
We are a high-growth business with a focus on providing legal firms and their clients with a vastly improved experience by replacing manual and complex payment processes with an automated, secure and digital-first experience.

Having recently launched a new platform to capitalise on our growth and a number of new market opportunities that have recently been secured, we are now looking to expand our Product team with a talented Senior UX Designer that can help to continue our mission to be the payment partner of choice for the legal industry. With strong support from both the Chief Product and Technology Officers, This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the growth of our platform and user experiences, it is also an opportunity to be at the forefront of shaping the future of how the legal sector operate their payments services.
What you’ll be doing
- Conduct user research and analyse user behaviour to understand their needs, goals, and pain points. Translate these insights into actionable design solutions.
- Develop and implement user-centered design strategies that align with Shieldpay’s business objectives. Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that enhance the user experience.
- Work closely with product managers, technical leads, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and seamless user experience across all Shieldpay products. Provide design leadership and advocate for best practices in UX design.
- Plan and conduct usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs. Ensure that final products meet usability and accessibility standards.
- Contribute to and maintain Shieldpay’s design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across all products. Establish and document design guidelines and standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in UX design, incorporating new techniques and tools to continuously improve Shieldpay’s user experience
What we're looking for in you
- Proven experience in UX design, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry. Proven track record of delivering user-centered B2B design solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Experience and understanding of customer verification (e.g. Know Your Customer and Know Your Business) and domestic and/or international payments.
- Strong skills in conducting user research, usability testing, and data analysis. Ability to translate user insights into actionable design improvements.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and your design process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for the user perspective. Strong presentation skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Experience leading design projects and guiding junior designers.
- Creative problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation. Ability to balance user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality design work.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Resilience and adaptability in the face of evolving challenges.
