Job Description
We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What you'll build
The CE3 UX organization consists of three practice teams: UX Strategy & Standards, and two UX Product Teams, each led by a manager reporting to the Head of E2E UX & Journey Management. As Manager of one of the UX Product Teams, you will lead the embedded UX practice for your assigned C&P delivery verticals out of the overall 5 Verticals - Deal Execution, Order to Cash, Adopt to Consume, Demand Generation, and Partner & Ecosystem. This is a delivery-oriented design leadership role: you will own design quality and velocity across ~10 distributed designers, drive coherence within your portfolio, and ensure that design standards — including those for AI-augmented and agentic product features — are applied consistently within live product contexts. You will work as a peer alongside the second UX Product Team manager and in close collaboration with the Manager of UX Strategy & Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Team leadership: Lead and develop a team of ~10 embedded UX designers across assigned delivery verticals; manage workload allocation, set clear goals, and build a culture of design rigor within a delivery-paced environment.
- Design quality: Establish and maintain design quality gates throughout the product delivery lifecycle — from discovery to release — and ensure UX standards (Standards Library Contents, measurement KPIs) are consistently applied.
- Design coherence: Drive cross-product coherence within your assigned verticals, coordinating the creation and maintenance of shared design patterns, reusable components, and cross-product UX conventions together with your vertical coordinating designers to drive UX consistency.
- Peer coordination: Coordinate actively with the peer UX Product Team manager to maintain C&P-level design coherence and share patterns, learnings, and capacity across both teams.
- Agentic AI UX: Ensure AI-augmented and agentic features within your verticals are designed with appropriate rigor; apply human-in-the-loop interaction standards and feed delivery realities back into the standards-setting process.
- Research-to-delivery pipeline: Own the pipeline between UX research and product delivery; translate insights and standards from UX Strategy & Standards into delivery-ready design briefs and artefacts.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineering leads, and solution architects to integrate UX from the earliest stages of product planning; represent UX in vertical prioritization forums.
- UX measurement: Apply UX measurement frameworks (UXPulse) within product delivery contexts and establish feedback loops that connect usability testing and analytics directly to design decisions.
What you bring
- Subject expertise: Minimum 5 years of UX experience, including at least 3 years in a product design leadership role within complex enterprise delivery environments; strong portfolio of shipped enterprise B2B product work; deep familiarity with enterprise design systems (SAP Fiori or equivalent); practical experience with Agentic AI product UX.
- People leadership: Proven track record leading ~10 UX designers embedded within product or delivery teams; mature leadership experience including performance management and team development; experience managing distributed teams across European delivery centres.
- Cross-functional effectiveness: Demonstrated ability to influence product and delivery decisions in the room and in the moment; experience working within scaled agile delivery organisations (SAFe, LeSS, or equivalent); comfortable managing competing priorities across multiple concurrent delivery workstreams.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; able to make the case for UX investment clearly to product, engineering, and business stakeholders. Knowledge of German is a plus.
Where you belong
You will be reporting to the Head of C&P E2E User Experience and be part of the extended leadership team of the Cross Engineering, Experience & Excellence (CE3) organisation. This is a dynamic unit made up of a high-performing group of professionals dedicated to driving C&P strategic transformations and Agentic AI initiatives. Our diverse team collaborates on complex, cross-functional projects with significant organisational impact, including the C&P Architecture Modernisation programme and the buildout of our Agentic AI delivery capability. The E2E UX function spans 30+ professionals across Walldorf, Berlin, Sofia, Warsaw, Prague, and other SAP locations. If you enjoy working in a thriving environment with a heterogeneous team, passionate about shaping the future of user experience in an AI-first world, this is the team for you.
