At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

This role is a strategic opportunity to shape the future of SAP’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) software business as the trusted Sr. Market & Competitive Advisor/Analyst of this global, dynamic market.

You’ll be the in-house expert on what is happening outside and around SAP’s four walls, guiding data-driven, strategic and operational decisions that keep SAP a leader in our industry, a step ahead of the rest and consistently winning against our top SCM competitors like Oracle, Infor, O9, Kinaxis and others.

You’ll directly support senior stakeholders across SAP, including the CEO, SAP Board, Supervisory Board, and L1 SCM leadership, as well as interact and engage with Field and Operational Leaders in Sales, Solution Marketing, and Product Engineering, to influence SAP product development, shape SAP messaging and GTM, and keep SAP winning in the SCM market.

In this role you will become a trusted advisor to:

  • Top corporate and product executives, who rely on fact-based guidance for market direction and competitive threats
  • Sales teams seeking sharp competitive insight to close strategic deals and defend against rival offerings
  • Product and corporate marketing teams that need deep visibility into competitor portfolios, market size, and market share to refine messaging, positioning and other GTM factors
  • Marketing and Analyst Relations, by supporting these teams with how SAP (or the competition) show up in key industry evaluations, customer sentiment or other narratives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead SCM market & competitive research/analysis, including market trends, forecasts, analyst views, customer sentiment, and key competitor strategies, products & capabilities
  • Build strong relationships with leading SCM industry analysts (e.g., Gartner, IDC) to deepen insights into the software market, competitive landscape and SAP perceptions
  • Deliver high-impact, timely competitive assets such as battlecards, win/loss insights, and board and field alerts on competitor earnings, events or key announcements
  • Collaborate/Partner with other CMI leads, as well as Sales, Solution Marketing, Product Engineering and others, to shape SCM strategy, positioning, and competitive messaging
  • Provide sales enablement and deal support to help teams win against key competitors
  • Analyze and interpret sentiment on SAP, such as Customer Sentiment of SAP and its competitors (e.g. win/loss analysis, software reviews); partner or analyst views too.
  • Drive awareness & adoption of CMI insights, tools and platforms to strengthen SAP’s data-driven culture
  • Help CMI and SAP expand into new areas and innovate with AI-driven approaches
  • Champion SAP’s business conduct standards and “compete the right way” philosophy

YOUR PROFILE

  • Experience competing against major SCM vendors (e.g. Oracle, Infor, O9, Kinaxis or similar) and familiarity with their go-to-market and product capabilities is strongly preferred. As well as location in Germany or the US.
  • Strong understanding of the Supply Chain software landscape, including key applications, market dynamics, and how competitors’ position and differentiate their products
  • Ability to synthesize market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs into clear, actionable insights that shape SAP’s strategy and field execution
  • Strong executive and sales communication skills
