Shape the next chapter of FinOps at SAP

Our team has a strong track record in SAP's cloud FinOps practice — and as SAP moves toward an autonomous enterprise, we are expanding into FinOps for AI to support SAP's AI strategy. Our flagship is the SAP FinOps Suite, which we are evolving into an AI-augmented platform that makes financial accountability a daily capability for every cloud LoB and engineer at SAP.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who acts as the CEO of their product — owning vision, strategy, and execution across SAP's FinOps Suite. You will report directly to the Head of FinOps & Data Solutions and work closely with the virtual team lead of the Product Management practice, taking a leading role in driving our FinOps product portfolio forward.

Bring curiosity, a self-starter mindset, and a bias to improve our processes, our delivery, and your own work with AI. This is a role for someone who reads the market, talks to engineers and customers, and shapes a roadmap that punches above the team's weight.

What you'll build

  • You will independently lead product discovery and delivery for one or more strategic FinOps product areas — defining roadmaps, partnering with engineering, design, and data to validate feasibility, and analyzing usage to inform iteration. You will collaborate with stakeholders across SAP — from Lines of Business and AI Business Unit to hyperscaler partners — to translate insights into product improvements and drive launch readiness.
  • You will lead the virtual delivery team. Together with the Technical Lead of your area, you have full empowerment to plan, arrange, and assign work to all virtual team members allocated to the team. The team's capacity is yours to direct toward the agreed delivery goals — and yours to organize effectively to hit them.

Potential focus areas — scoped to your strengths and the portfolio's needs — include one or more of the following:

  • FinOps for AI — extending the Suite beyond pure infrastructure cost management into output-related unit economics: cost per token, cost per AI capability, cost per use case.

  • Kubernetes Optimization — defining the product experience for SAP's emerging Kubernetes optimization capability inside the Suite, from rightsizing to policy-based recommendations.

  • Cost Optimization Platform — driving rightsizing, waste reduction, and rate optimization into a unified, agent-augmented platform across hyperscalers and SAP-internal cloud.

  • Next-Generation User Experience — shaping the FinOps Suite's adaptive, context-aware UI: persona-driven layouts, embedded AI assistants, generative widgets, and Joule integration.

What you bring

Bring your ability to independently define requirements, run prototyping cycles, validate ideas with internal customers, and drive decisions grounded in data and user insights. You operate as the CEO of your product — biased to action, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of leading without formal authority.

  • Several years of product management experience delivering enterprise software, ideally in cloud, infrastructure, AI/ML, data, or developer tooling.

  • Solid technical depth in at least one of: cloud infrastructure & FinOps, AI/ML and the LLM ecosystem, Kubernetes and platform engineering, or data products and analytics platforms — enough to engage credibly with engineers and shape architectural trade-offs.

  • Track record of data-driven decision making — defining metrics, instrumenting products, and using usage data to drive iteration.

  • Experience leading virtual teams and getting work done across reporting lines.

  • Ability to communicate with executive stakeholders and to translate between business, technical, and financial audiences.

  • A genuine "AI way of working" mindset — you actively use AI to improve your own output, your team's processes, and the products you ship.

  • Hands-on familiarity with FinOps practices, hyperscaler cost and billing models (AWS, Azure, GCP), or cloud unit economics.

Where you belong

You will join the FinOps & Data Solutions organization within GCO IP E&D (Infrastructure Platform Engineering & Delivery) — the team responsible for SAP's FinOps practice and the SAP FinOps Suite. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with data engineers, software engineers, designers, and data scientists across two time zones, and partner with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP), AI Core / Business AI, Cloud Reporting, and the Suite platform teams.

The role reports directly to the Head of FinOps & Data Solutions and works closely with the virtual team lead of the Product Management practice — giving you a strong line into team strategy and a peer community of product leaders to grow with, and positioning this role as a key leadership role for our product portfolio going forward.
