Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled senior software engineer to join our architecture & platform team here at SAP Field Service Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing frontends for cloud-based solutions that meet the needs of our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of front-end architecture, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

SAP Field Service Management (FSM) is a cloud-native software solution that helps customers scheduling thousands of service jobs and technicians efficiently every day. As part of an international distributed team in SAP FSM you will be building Microservices and Applications of today that will redefine tomorrow's Field Service.

The Role

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable front-end architectures.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives.

  • Monitor and optimize application front-end performance, cost, and security.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development teams.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.

  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of the frontend code to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.

Key Skills:

  • Good knowledge in software design principles, micro-service & front-end architecture patterns and best practices with full-stack TypeScript development on the server (Node.js) and in the browser.

  • Know-how of tools, frameworks, and libraries such as NestJS, ExpressJS, Angular (or React), npm, Git, GitHub Actions.

  • Knowledge of software testing practices & frameworks (TDD, unit testing, end-to-end testing and frameworks).

  • Good knowledge of web standards HTML5, CSS3, browser APIs and web security.

  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) for effective teamwork.

  • Nice to have: experience with automated CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

  • Nice to have: solid know-how of DevOps processes and working in a cloud-native environment (Unix/Linux) with monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus), tooling as well as application runtime environments with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Nice to have: experience with Java, Bash, Python and SQL.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering front-end solutions.
