Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

We help the world run better

At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Senior Developer to join our forward-thinking team dedicated to the Remote Support Infrastructure project. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to delivering top-notch development services. As a Senior Developer, you will lead and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of our innovative SAP Remote Support Infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security for seamless remote support to our global customers. You will also play a key role in integrating AI-driven capabilities into our cloud platform, leveraging modern AI tools and frameworks to boost developer productivity and solution quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Innovation and Design: Design and implement robust infrastructure solutions for seamless deployment, operation, and scalability. Drive technical excellence and innovation within the team.

  • AI Integration: Identify opportunities to embed AI-powered features and automation into the Remote Support Infrastructure. Collaborate with product and architecture teams to evaluate, prototype, and ship AI-assisted solutions (e.g. intelligent diagnostics, automated root-cause analysis, AI-driven alerting).

  • AI-Augmented Development: Champion the use of AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) and prompt engineering practices within the development team to accelerate delivery and reduce repetitive work.

  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance development processes through customer and stakeholder feedback. Drive product improvements and innovations.

  • Agile Methodology: Collaborate within agile development methodologies to deliver high-quality software.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with customers, team members, and stakeholders to provide expert advice. Promote best practices in software engineering and responsible AI usage throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years in software development, with a focus on cloud-native application development and DevOps practices.

  • Proficiency in Java, with experience in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Kyma experience is a strong benefit.

  • Proficiency with version control systems like Git and platforms such as GitHub.

  • Experience with CI/CD practices, using tools like GitHub Actions.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services. BTP experience is a strong benefit.

  • Proven ability to work in agile environments and adapt to evolving requirements.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

AI Skills (Optional)

In line with SAP's strategy to build AI-first products and empower developers with AI tooling, candidates are expected to demonstrate practical experience in the following areas:

  • AI-Assisted Development: Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent tools in day-to-day development workflows. Ability to write effective prompts and leverage AI suggestions critically.

  • AI Integration & Agent Development: Familiarity with integrating LLM APIs (e.g. Anthropic Claude, SAP Joule / AI Core) into backend services, as well as awareness of agentic AI patterns such as tool use, RAG, and multi-step orchestration. Experience building AI-powered features or prototypes is a strong benefit.

  • Responsible AI & SAP AI Services: Knowledge of responsible AI principles — data privacy, GDPR compliance, and hallucination mitigation in enterprise environments. Familiarity with SAP AI Core, SAP AI Launchpad, or BTP AI services is a strong benefit.

About the Team

You will be part of the Customer Experience Group within the Corporate Processes and IT (CPIT) organization at SAP. Our mission is to enhance customer interactions with SAP's IT solutions by providing a modern, reliable, and simplified infrastructure for remote support. This project is crucial to SAP's transformation into an Intelligent Enterprise, ensuring secure and compliant remote access to our customers' diverse solutions.

The Remote Support Infrastructure is supported by two dedicated development teams. The successful candidate will join our team in Poland, which delivers solutions specifically for SAP customers. Our counterpart team in Germany focuses on developing next-generation solutions for SAP's internal stakeholders and maintaining existing legacy systems. Together, both teams represent the Remote Support Infrastructure.

Application Process

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting their resume and a cover letter detailing their relevant experience and why they are a good fit for this role.
