What You'll do

We are seeking an Expert level Technical Product Manager to lead the strategy, adoption, and evolution of SAP's AI-powered compliance and developer tooling ecosystem.

This role sits at the intersection of AI, developer experience, compliance automation, and platform engineering. You will be responsible for defining product vision, prioritizing investments, and driving adoption of AI-powered compliance solutions across SAP's engineering organization.

Unlike traditional customer-facing product roles, your customers are SAP's developers, engineering leaders, compliance specialists, and AI platform teams. Your success will be measured by the impact and adoption of the tools and capabilities you deliver, the developer productivity gains you enable, and your ability to align diverse stakeholders around a shared product vision.

You will work closely with software engineers, AI engineers, compliance experts, technical leads, and engineering organizations across SAP to bring innovative AI-powered solutions from concept to broad organizational adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for SAP's compliance automation and AI-enabled developer tooling ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, agent technologies, and automation to improve compliance processes and developer workflows.
  • Translate organizational goals and compliance requirements into scalable product initiatives and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive long-term product planning while balancing near-term delivery priorities.

Product Ownership & Delivery

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with engineering and compliance stakeholders.
  • Define product requirements, user stories, success metrics, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and design through implementation and rollout.
  • Ensure product investments align with business objectives, compliance goals, and developer needs.
  • Track adoption, usage, and effectiveness of delivered capabilities and continuously refine priorities based on data and feedback.

Internal Customer Engagement & Adoption

  • Act as the voice of SAP developers and engineering organizations within the product team.
  • Develop deep understanding of engineering workflows, pain points, and compliance challenges across SAP.
  • Drive adoption of new AI-powered capabilities through communication, enablement, demonstrations, training, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with engineering leaders and key development organizations to understand emerging needs and increase product reach.
  • Define and monitor success metrics related to adoption, productivity improvements, and compliance outcomes.

AI & Technical Product Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with AI engineers and technical leads to shape the direction of AI-powered compliance capabilities.
  • Help prioritize investments involving AI agents, MCP integrations, agent orchestration frameworks, retrieval systems, and developer-assistance tooling.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for product innovation.
  • Guide product decisions involving AI capabilities, model integrations, evaluation frameworks, agent workflows, and developer experience considerations.
  • Contribute to the definition of responsible AI practices, governance requirements, and quality standards for AI-powered tooling.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Align engineering, compliance, legal, support, and platform stakeholders around shared goals and priorities.
  • Facilitate decision-making across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of combined hands-on software development and Product Management, Product Ownership, or related experience in software, platform, or developer-focused solutions.
  • Proven experience driving adoption of internal platforms, developer tools, enterprise software, or technical products.
  • Strong understanding of software development practices, modern engineering workflows, and developer tooling ecosystems.
  • Ability to work effectively with highly technical teams and translate complex technical concepts into clear product direction.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organizational influence skills.
  • Experience defining product strategy, roadmaps, success metrics, and outcome-based priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with AI-powered products, large language models, or agent-based systems.
  • Solid understanding of AI agent architectures, agent orchestration patterns, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and AI-powered developer tools.
  • Familiarity with Agentic Harness concepts and the orchestration of multiple AI capabilities to automate complex workflows.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and AI system quality measurement.
  • Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, embeddings, and modern AI application architectures.
  • Experience with developer platforms, IDE integrations, GitHub Actions, CI/CD systems, or engineering productivity tools.
  • Familiarity with open source software governance, intellectual property compliance, or software supply chain management.

The Global Technology Legal Compliance (GTLC) organization within SAP Product Engineering is responsible for governing the use of third-party intellectual property across SAP's software portfolio, including open source software, commercial third-party software, web services, and AI-enabled technologies.

As a Technical Product Management Director, you will help shape the future of compliance automation and developer experience across SAP. You will drive the strategy, adoption, and evolution of AI-powered compliance solutions used by thousands of developers globally, helping transform compliance from a manual process into an intelligent, developer-centric experience.
