Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you’ll build

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of the payroll outsourcing project, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in alignment with global standards.
  • Support the development of the global payroll governance framework, ensuring transparency, compliance, and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive global-to-local process harmonization, balancing standardization with compliance to local regulations.
  • Manage the vendor implementation workstreams, including requirements gathering, testing, cutover, and stabilization.
  • Lead change management and communications, ensuring that employees, managers, and stakeholders are well-informed and engaged during transition.
  • Partner with the vendor management lead to support the ongoing evolution of vendor management.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Tax, and Technology to ensure payroll integrates seamlessly into the wider employee services ecosystem.
  • Track and report program progress, risks, and issues to governance boards and executive stakeholders.
  • Create a sustainable transition plan into BAU outsourcing operations, including roles, responsibilities, KPIs, and escalation pathways.
  • Provide thought leadership and insights on future global payroll strategy, ensuring scalability and resilience for years ahead.

Your work will directly support the evolution of global payroll operations, supporting strategic business priorities and employee experience.

What you bring

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Professional certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP/PRINCE2) preferred
  • Professional certification in Payroll (e.g. CPP, CIPP, GPA) preferred
  • Additional qualifications in Change Management or Governance (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) are a plus

Skills

  • Strong project management skills: planning, execution, issue resolution, risk mitigation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Solid understanding of global payroll processes, compliance frameworks, and vendor governance.
  • Proficiency with HR/Payroll systems (SAP Payroll, SuccessFactors, or equivalent market leading platforms).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make sound recommendations

Competencies

  • Ability to manage complexity and deliver results under tight timelines.
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong focus on teamwork and cross-functional alignment.
  • Change leadership: able to drive adoption, manage resistance, and embed new ways of working.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and ethical standards.
  • Growth mindset, adaptability, and willingness to transition from project to BAU leadership

Work Experience

    • Proven track record in delivering large-scale payroll or HR outsourcing projects (multi-country/global scope strongly preferred).
    • Demonstrated experience in governance frameworks, vendor management, and compliance oversight.
    • Experience leading cross-functional teams across geographies, cultures, and time zones.
    • Prior involvement in payroll outsourcing, payroll transformation, or HR shared services set-up is highly desirable.
    • Strong background in change management, communications, and stakeholder engagement

Where you belong

You will be part of a diverse and collaborative global payroll transformation team. The culture is fast-paced, transparent, and focused on outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on turning complexity into execution, is comfortable managing across cultures and time zones, and enjoys building sustainable structures for the long term
