What you’ll build

As part of the Business Area Controlling (BAC) team for APAC Sales, you will serve as the primary finance business partner supporting Market Unit (MU) India within the Customer Success Board Area. In this highly visible role, you will drive financial steering, performance management, and strategic decision support for senior MU leadership through best practices with your peers for other MUs. You will be the custodian of the MU management P&L, lead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, monitor business performance, and enable data‑driven decision-making. You will also assess Cloud KPI impacts for complex cloud deals and work closely with cross‑functional finance and operational teams across the global organization. We are looking for a Controller with strong analytical skills, solid international experience, and demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive business outcomes.

Finance Business Partnering

  • Act as trusted advisor and steward to the MU CFO and MU MD, providing financial insights, strategic recommendations, and proactive performance steering.

Complex Cloud Deal & Cashflow support

  • Evaluate financial implications of complex cloud deals, including Cloud KPI assessment and deal model review; support MU CFO on deal approval processes.
  • Prepare, analyze, and validate cashflow templates for both short- and long-term cash planning.
  • Partner with Q2C and relevant teams to manage provisions and cash collection, ensuring alignment with overall cashflow expectations and impact to the P&L.
  • Quarter-End / Month-End Closing (QEC/MEC)
  • Perform CoS (Cost of Sales) compliance checks and ensure accuracy of financial postings.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for MU stakeholders with clear insights and commentary.
  • Conduct performance analytics and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Review EHF cases with MU CFO and coordinate with Revenue Recognition and related teams.
  • Support QBRs and regular business reviews with comprehensive financial packages.
  • Provide topline latest estimates and perform risk/opportunity assessments.
  • Review overall expenses and ensure integrity of the MU management P&L.

Forecasting and Budgeting

  • Lead annual financial budgeting and planning for the MU.
  • Own full P&L forecast for the MU, consolidating inputs from all relevant teams to provide a complete and accurate financial outlook.
  • Explain variances, identify risks & opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive financial accountability for key contributors including Cloud revenue, major expense lines, and operational cost drivers.
  • Manage headcount‑related topics in alignment with business and HR, ensuring proper planning and impact assessment.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Maintain strong collaboration with Global Commercial Finance (e.g., CBP, Revenue Recognition), Global Financial Services (e.g., Q2C, O2I, R2R), Global COEs (e.g., Cloud COE), and Global Revenue Operations.
  • Drive seamless execution of reporting, planning, forecasting, compliance, and operational finance processes through best practices endorsed by BAC Sales in driving standardized service portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate financial frameworks, standards, and governance requirements.

What you bring:

  • University degree in Finance, Controlling, Accounting, or related field.
  • Total of 10-12 years of professional experience
  • 4–6 years of relevant professional experience in controlling, financial planning, accounting, or similar functions.
  • Experience in an international business environment preferred.
  • Exposure to process orchestration or leading process improvements is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to support business transformation and deliver against ambitious timelines.
  • Excellent analytical thinking with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong business acumens, understanding processes and connecting the dots for big picture view.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact across all organizational levels.
  • Team player with strong focus on team sustainability and enablement.
  • Proven track record of high-quality performance and delivering outcomes.
  • Strong time management and ability to independently prioritize and drive topics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP financial systems (e.g., SAP CO/FI, SAC, Business Warehouse) preferred.
  • High degree of initiative, ownership, and accountability.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • AI literacy and understanding of how AI can be leveraged in financial processes.
