In the People & Culture Services organization, our mission is to deliver exceptional value for the business through leading-edge people & culture services putting our employees and managers front and center - leveraging SAP’s game-changing technology. To support SAP’s People Agenda, a key priority of the global P&C Services organization is to support the successful roll-out of our People Agenda in 2026 and beyond across all SAP countries beyond Germany.
YOUR FUTURE ROLE
As Head of People & Culture (P&C) for India, you will be responsible for making SAP’s People Agenda a reality in India, driving high employee engagement and creating a consistent high-performance and growth culture environment.
This role orchestrates global people and culture services, policies and programs for local adoption, positioning SAP as a top employer in the market and supporting its business growth in India. You will have the opportunity to be highly visible and create meaningful impact for more than 17,500 employees in Bangalore, Gurgaon, Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad. India has representation of all Board areas with Product Engineering & Customer Value Group being the largest Board areas in presence.
While working closely with other P&C functions in India, your key stakeholders will include the Managing Directors of SAP Labs India, and market unit which is SAP India Pvt Ltd as well their local leadership teams. You will also work closely with the Finance Controllers, Global Real Estate and Facilities (GRF), Operations, Legal and Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) teams for policies and compliance topics.
You will be a member of the extended global P&C Services Leadership team, closely collaborating with other Regional P&C Country Heads, and the regional APAC leadership team. You will report to the Head of P&C for APAC.
Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Provide functional leadership across all P&C teams within the country, fostering a cohesive local P&C community, aligning on shared processes and programmes, and ensuring legal compliance.
- Drive the implementation of SAP’s People Strategy, aligning with global P&C functional strategies and business needs, and drive people relation topics. • Act as custodian of local culture, fostering SAP's culture and values, and ensuring employee cohesion. •
- Drive simplification, innovation, and excellence in recurring delivery of global and local P&C services for managers and employees in a compliant way. Host P&C Leaders and Board Members to showcase best of P&C India when applicable. •
- Act as a key interface and trusted advisor to the Business & P&C Leadership Team in India, ensuring coherence and collaboration across different P&C functions.
- Drive local leadership culture and development in line with SAP’s global frameworks; serve as a member of the local Executive Leadership Team. • Drive internal and external communication on people matters, supporting employer branding initiatives and social media presence such as: o Elevating SAP’s external positioning by showcasing P&C best practices across relevant industry forums and platforms.
- Actively participating in and aiming to win leading Employer Awards focused on Innovation and Thought Leadership and leverage client presentations on SAP’s Growth Portfolio and “SAP Runs SAP” narrative to reinforce credibility and impact.
- Successfully anchoring the health & wellness initiatives in India positioning P&C as a strategic driver of employee well-being. o Identifying and pursuing new, industry-leading recognitions with a focused emphasis on Learning & Development, Health & Well-being.
- Actively contributing to strengthening collaboration across P&C units through OneIndia strategic projects and Rewards & Recognition initiatives, fostering a more integrated and unified P&C approach.
You will also be responsible to manage a small team to drive people and organizational topics to support the transformational journey of SAP. As people manager, you will:
- Build and lead a high-impact team focused on driving the people & culture agenda in India.
- Ensure alignment with organizational goals and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and collaboration.
- Live the SAP leadership principles by developing talent, driving transformation and delivering results.
- Support talent development and people manager responsibilities including goal setting, performance management, providing feedback, coaching, etc.
YOUR PROFILE
- Strong leadership and people manager skills and experience leading talents in an enterprise environment.
- Strong ability to build trusting relationships, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information while maintaining a balance between assertiveness and diplomacy.
- Leadership as both exemplar and enabler: cultural ambassador for SAP’s values & behaviors and Leadership Promise at all times.
- Demonstrable executive presence, public speaking, strong communication and facilitation skill.
- You have a strong track record of bringing HR programs to successful execution in your respective geography with a can-do-attitude to take ownership, act pragmatically, and demonstrate accountability for outcomes with impact.
- You bring qualities like empathy, transparency, resilience, a growth mindset, delivering what you’ve agreed to deliver and the passion to make an impact and develop talent.
