What you'll build

  • In this role, you are analysing Cost and Usage data at large scale and create reporting, detect Anomalies, unusual patterns, and cost inefficiencies
  • You apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques where appropriate to enhance cost transparency and support proactive cost management.
  • You automate data analytics and reporting and drive cost efficiency by developing and measuring of meaningful Unit Economics KPIs and offering Benchmarking methodologies and reports
  • You develop analytical frameworks for Reserved Instance (RI) and commitment management, identifying utilization gaps and optimization potential.
  • You structure and harmonize complex billing datasets from different cloud providers and contribute to scalable data models enabling intelligent cost monitoring.
  • You own the responsibility for the Billing, Showback, and Invoicing business processes for all public cloud platforms globally, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • You collaborate closely and engage proactively with FinOps stakeholders, Product Management, Engineering, and Controlling units to translate analytical findings into actionable cost optimization measures.

What you bring

Core Analytics & Technical Skills

  • Strong background in data analytics, statistics, and applied machine learning
  • Experience with anomaly detection approaches and analytical methods for identifying irregularities in time-series and multi-dimensional datasets
  • Advanced programming skills in Python and strong SQL capabilities
  • Experience working with large datasets and modern data processing environments
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and automation of reporting solutions

Cloud & FinOps Domain Expertise

  • Core FinOps Skills according to FinOps.org, especially for cost / usage and optimization
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of cloud cost management concepts, billing models, showback principles, and cost allocation methodologies
  • Experience with Reserved Instance (RI) / commitment models and utilization analysis
  • Experience with cloud cost management platforms is beneficial

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate analytical findings into business-relevant insights
  • Experience working with stakeholders from Business, Controlling, and Engineering functions across global regions
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to balance analytical depth and operational responsibility
  • Fluent English
