We are looking for a DevOps engineer to join the infrastructure team for cloud operations and development at SAP. This team is building the current state of the art cloud platform for public cloud, sovereign cloud and private cloud scenarios. This is an exciting time for those who are looking to help transition cloud into the future of AI and sovereign scenarios.

What you’ll do:

  • Suggest and drive improvements in how the team works. Collaborate with teammates to hone your ideas and build consensus.
  • Develop and maintain a monitoring system that overlooks our build landscape.
  • Learn about hyperscale environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure, and SAP Cloud data center and ensure products run reliably and optimally in these environments.
  • Design, develop, and support various tools and applications related to CI/CD infrastructure, microservices, and cloud services.
  • You and your code will be a vital part of the SAP Business Technology Platform.

What you bring:

  • Strong relevant work experience in software development, site reliability engineering, DevOps, quality assurance, or similar.
  • Programming experience in an industry standard language such as Java, Go, Python, C/C++, or JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in using AI in daily workflows to drive efficiency without sacrificing production system security and reliability
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Teraform, Kibana, Grafana, Open Search or Dynatace.
  • Experience with Open Stack, AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus.
  • You are an excellent collaborator with good communication skills.

Fluency both written and spoken in English, German is nice to have.

Tech you bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in state-of-the-art development languages and concepts like Python, Go, shell, REST or Infrastructure-as-code
  • Experienced in working with distributed Unix/Linux environments
  • Experienced with different IaaS providers is benefitial.
  • Professional about virtualisation and container technologies and usage of tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • A good understanding of monitoring cloud infrastructure with tools like Grafana, InfluxDB and Prometheus .
  • Very good knowledge in automation and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Concourse CI
  • Knowledge in SQL noSQL databases like Postgres is a plus.
  • Strong architectural skills to plan and implement
  • 5+ years of work experience in a respective software development area.
