We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

Development Manager

Location: Montreal | Type: Full-Time | Travel: Up to 10%

About the Role

We're looking for a Development Manager to lead and grow a high-performing engineering team while staying close to the software development. This is a hybrid role — roughly 50-60% leadership, 40-50% individual contribution — perfect for someone who loves building great software and great teams. You'll work on a cloud-native, SaaS product, Sales Cloud V2 used by businesses worldwide, in a fast-paced agile environment.

What You'll Do

Lead & Grow Your Team

· Hire, mentor, and develop engineers; build a culture of continuous learning and high standards

· Set clear goals, give timely feedback, and actively support career growth

· Remove blockers and create an environment where the team can do their best work

· Guide the team towards Agentic Development Lifecycle (ADLC) by using AI-powered development tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to boost team productivity

· Champion engineering best practices: test-driven development, code quality, CI/CD, and observability

· Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to align technical direction with business strategy

Build & Ship Software

· Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and complex technical problems

· Design and implement cloud-native microservices and REST or event-driven APIs

· Map business requirement (from customer / users) to technical solutions and plan tasks for your team

· Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and built to the highest quality standards

What We're Looking For

Leadership & Experience

· 5+ years of software development experience, including time in a people management or tech lead role

· Proven track record of hiring, growing, and retaining engineering talent

· Clear communicator who can align technical work with business outcomes

· Experience working in agile / Scrum-based teams

Technical Skills

· Strong hands-on coding skills in Java (Spring Boot preferred) and/or Python

· Solid experience building and deploying cloud-native microservices using REST (HTTP/1.1) and/or gRPC/HTTP2

· Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g. Kafka)

· Experience building web applications using Angular

· Working knowledge of document store (e.g. MongoDB) is a nice to have

· Experience with AWS and DevOps/CI-CD tooling (Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar)

· Commitment to quality: test-driven development, integration testing, and meaningful code coverage

· Ability to troubleshoot across the full stack in a cloud environment

Nice to Have

· Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot

· Experience leading an AI tooling transformation within an engineering organization

· Agentic AI concepts and building agents

· Background in CRM, ERP, or enterprise SaaS products

Education

Master's degree with 8+ years, or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of software development experience. Equivalent practical experience is equally valued.

Why Join Us

· Work on products used by businesses worldwide

· Autonomy to shape your team's engineering culture and ways of working

· Be at the forefront of integrating AI tools into everyday software development

· Collaborative, inclusive environment that values curiosity and continuous improvement
