Location: Devanahalli Campus, Bangalore North

SAP SuccessFactors is the leading provider of cloud-based HR business (HCM) solutions. As a part of SAP Learning Engineering, we develop and own high scaling multi-tenant cloud-based Learning Management System built on Java/JEE stack and leverage the power of Gen AI for developing features as well as leverage it for development productivity.
We are looking for a Development Manager to steer the team into the future, facilitating & coaching team members in achieving ambitious business goals, and propelling them to higher levels of achievement in their careers
What you’ll build :
- Understand technical, product roadmap and ensure that team is delivering in-line with it. Responsible for creating monthly and release specific plans
- Be the sounding board for the team to discuss the designs and solutions, and provide right guidance
- Be responsible for building and sustaining high-performing team, with focus on building, updating, and sustaining engineering expertise and teamwork. This includes hiring the best people on an ongoing basis and integration of employees
- Foster an environment of innovation, learning and development amongst team members. Drive innovation mindset in the people, and showcase innovation POCs in various forums
- Coach team members to become proficient in development & quality processes, and technologies used in the team, thereby increasing expertise and productivity
- Actively address and resolve issues at the workplace and projects for team members, keeping stakeholders informed and seeking their support when required
- Support the success of not only your direct reports, but also the success of other teams within the engineering unit, by supporting cross team needs and opportunities
- Continuously adapt the team’s focus and execution capabilities to cater to customer/market needs, company strategy and business objectives. Ensure team is conversant with the business strategy, and team members see the relation between their daily work and company’s objectives.
What you bring
- About 14-16 years work experience in building software products & components with 80% coding capacity
- Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering or Technology (BE/BTech) or allied branches, Master’s in computer applications
- Must have experience with highly scalable, cloud scale Java/JEE based software development along familiarity with latest architectural paradigms is essential. Exposure to public cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps is an added advantage
- Working knowledge AI in general and Gen AI in particular. Development of features using LLMs is an added advantage apart from guiding teams on using coding agents like GitHub Copilot or Claude Sonet
- Experience in all aspects of Software Development process and phases of Product Lifecycle
- Agile Software Engineering methodology, and Coach.
- Managed high-performance teams, with high employee engagement, leadership trust and retention strategies, for at least 3 years
- Analytical and presentation skills. Excellent Coaching, interpersonal, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills.
