Job Description
We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What you'll build
In this role, you'll take ownership of physical security across SAP's locations in Bulgaria and Turkey— keeping our people, buildings, and assets safe every day. You'll develop and implement security programs that meet SAP's Global Physical Security Standards, while staying ahead of emerging risks and evolving regulatory requirements.
You'll be responsible for delivering:
- Managing contract security services and electronic security systems — from access control and CCTV to intrusion detection and visitor management — ensuring all sites operate to the highest standard.
- Leading physical security risk assessments, building surveys, and penetration testing to proactively identify and address vulnerabilities.
- Overseeing concurrent security projects from planning and design through to commissioning, in close collaboration with Real Estate and Facilities teams.
- Building and maintaining personnel protection programs, including travel safety, close protection, events security, kidnap preparedness, and workplace violence prevention.
- Driving security awareness and training initiatives across all Bulgaria and Turkey locations, fostering a security-conscious culture.
- Managing incident response, investigations, and reporting with professionalism and discretion.
- Reporting on security strategy, KPIs, and compliance against both internal standards and national legislation — and supporting internal and external audits.
- Maintaining strong, proactive relationships with law enforcement, emergency responders, and external business partners.
- Contributing to the broader regional security team through knowledge sharing, working groups, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your work will directly shape the safety and resilience of SAP's operations in Bulgaria and Turkey, with visibility and impact across regional and global security leadership.
What you bring
We're looking for someone who combines deep security expertise with the confidence to operate independently, influence stakeholders, and lead through complexity.
- At least 5 years of experience in the physical security industry — or 3 years in a corporate security environment. A background in military or law enforcement is equally valued.
- Practical experience across security risk assessment, electronic security systems, incident management, and personnel protection — ideally spanning several of these areas.
- A track record of managing vendors, contracts, and cross-functional relationships at both operational and senior management level.
- Solid knowledge of data protection legislation (including GDPR) and physical security compliance frameworks, with the ability to apply these in practice.
- Clear, confident communication — written and verbal — including the ability to produce reports and present to senior stakeholders without close direction.
- The composure and leadership presence to guide teams through incidents and emergencies calmly and professionally.
- Fluent English (written and spoken); knowledge of Bulgarian or other regional languages is a strong advantage.
Where you belong
You'll join SAP's Global Physical Security team — a group of experienced professionals trusted to protect what matters most. In Bulgaria and Turkey, you'll be the go-to security expert for multiple sites, working closely with colleagues across Real Estate, Health and Safety, Legal, and HR, while engaging regularly with regional and global security leadership.
This is a role for someone who takes ownership, works with purpose, and brings genuine expertise to every situation. You'll have the space to shape programs, improve processes, and build lasting relationships — inside SAP and with the wider law enforcement and emergency services community.
SAP is committed to your growth and wellbeing. You'll benefit from global learning resources, a strong internal security network, and a team culture that values both rigour and sound human judgment. We actively support inclusion and belonging — welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds, career paths, and industries.
