The Physical Security Specialist responsible for Data Center Security Operations will support managing and executing daily physical security operations at assigned data centers, ensuring alignment with established policies and procedures. They will support routine site inspections, audits, and physical security system checks to maintain operational readiness and security risk assessments of locations as required.

The Physical Security Specialist will coordinate the activities of contracted security personnel (guard force/maintenance vendors), including scheduling, compliance, and performance monitoring in cooperation with Area Data Center Security Operations Lead, Data Center Management, Data Center Services, Lines of Business and market units. They will support projects of the installation, maintenance, and status of electronic security systems, report technical issues to vendors or IT team as needed. They will assist in case of physical security incidents on-site, including reporting, escalation, and coordination with law enforcement or emergency responders.

The Physical Security Specialist will maintain the highest level of professionalism in all activities to represent the organization internally and externally, while serving as a trusted advisor and ambassador for SAP and affiliated companies.

Competencies and Skills:

• Manage detailed programs related to the efficiency of the financial, operational and overall compliance of the organization.
• Seek to highlight ways to improve the effectiveness of the organization and its processes.
• Possess a good working knowledge and understanding of their industry and identify and collect key market information/trends and apply to the organization/processes.
• Manage and execute day to day delivery of multiple projects up and down the organization.
• Manage relationships often with global, regional and local senior management plus outside service providers and business partners.
• Manage processes and interfaces across organizational boundaries inside and outside of Global Physical Security management that relate to area of responsibility.
• Seek to drive operational excellence and quality assurance by providing best practices, problem solving, and guidance within his / her area of responsibility.
• There may be occasional travel and responsibilities with in the region, or when required to support operations out side of the prescribed region.Serve as liaison to executive management / provide reports / champion internal goals and manage KPI's.
  
  Experience, Education, and Certifications:
  
• Experience in physical security industry or equivalent (military, law enforcement, etc.) or corporate physical security
  
• Direct experience in the majority of ”Job Description” and “Competencies and Skills” above.
  
• A degree in related field (desirable).Ability to pass background verification and Government Security Clearance
  
• Fluent German speaking with comprehensive English language written and spoken a must.
