Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you’ll build

Join SAP’s RAP Services team within the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and help shape the future of enterprise applications by enhancing the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP). You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and ensuring the quality of complex framework features that enable cloud-ready, transactional business applications and services in the SAP BTP ABAP environment and SAP S/4HANA (both cloud and on-premises). Your work will directly impact how customers worldwide build their business applications, enabling efficient development, seamless data exchange, and next-generation user experiences.

As a framework developer working alongside experienced engineers, you will drive the evolution of the programming model; enhance OData service provisioning, enable collaborative draft scenarios, and integrate powerful capabilities such as business events, embedded analytics, and Business AI into RAP. By ensuring these capabilities support qualities like extensibility, testability, and supportability out of the box, you will help make RAP the leading programming model for implementing business applications in the SAP ecosystem. You will also provide Agentic and Generative AI tools to help customers accelerate their development processes. By resolving customer tickets and offering expert support for complex issues, you will contribute to delivering an outstanding customer experience.

What you bring

  • A good to excellent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills in ABAP or another object-oriented programming language
  • Fluency in both German and English
  • Abstract and analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. You can understand complex concepts and present them clearly
  • Familiarity with RAP, ABAP, ABAP Core Data Services (CDS) or enterprise software development, is a plus

Where you belong

The RAP Services team is at the core of developing the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), which is used by some of the world’s largest organizations to build and run their business-critical ABAP applications. Our team specializes in OData service provisioning and integrating Business AI into the programming model. We foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where ideas are valued, and innovation is encouraged. You will have opportunities to grow and develop, learn new skills, and network with experts from around the world. We offer training courses tailored to your individual knowledge and experience, a buddy program, and regular knowledge exchanges with experienced colleagues, enabling you to contribute and help us make RAP the preferred programming model for business applications.
