Job Description

  • Supervise daily physical security operations at assigned data centers, ensuring alignment with established policies and procedures.
  • Local point of engagement and coordination with Data Center Management, Data Center Services, Lines of Business and market units.
  • Coordinate the activities of contracted security personnel (guard force/maintenance vendors), including scheduling, compliance, and performance monitoring.
  • Implement and maintain the Building Security Operations Manual, ensure alignment with established regional and global policies and procedures.
  • Execute site level access control procedures, including badge management control, visitor protocols and recurrent audits.
  • Perform routine site inspections, audits, and physical security system checks to maintain operational readiness.
  • Act as the local GPS stakeholder in cross-functional projects with DCM, DCS and external stakeholders.
  • Project mangement of the installation, maintenance, and status of electronic security systems, report technical issues to vendors or IT team as needed.
  • Manage physical security incidents on-site, including reporting, escalation, and coordination with law enforcement or emergency responders.
  • Conduct security risk assessments of locations as required.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation related to access, incidents, and daily operations.
  • Execute training and onboarding of security staff and data center personnel on site-level security policies and procedures.
  • Support local audit and compliance inspections and ensure adherence to site-level security standards and corrective action plans.
  • Participate in the design of emergency drills and business continuity exercises in collaboration with Health & Safety.
  • Act as the first point of contact for on-site security matters and represent the security function in local operational meetings
  • Must maintain all relevant security clearances as required by regulation. If new clearance requirements are enacted by law, regulation or customer requirement, the individual must participate in the clearance process.
  • International travel quarterly, up to 5 trips per year or as operationally required.


Competencies And Skills

  • Strong operational knowledge of Electronic Security Systems, vendor management and guard force organization.
  • Experience supervising and coordinating contract security staff.
  • Proficient in identifying, documenting, and escalating incidents, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in the delivery and execution of technical projects and organizational initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability acting as GPS stakeholder in cross functional project delivery with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis response and emergency procedures, coordinating first-level actions during security events.
  • Capable of coordinating with vendors or internal IT for basic troubleshooting and system maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multi-national teams and manage operations in multiple countries.
  • Knowledge of basic compliance standards and physical security regulations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger security management team.


Experience, Education, And Certifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in physical security industry or equivalent (military, law enforcement, etc.) or 3 years’ minimum experience in corporate physical security
  • 4+ years of direct experience in the majority of ”Job Description” and “Competencies and Skills” above.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • CPP and PSP certification preferred
  • Fluency German and English language (writted and spoken)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Existing national security clearances preferred. He post holder will be required to maintain all relevant security clearances as required by national security requirements, state and industry regulations. If new clearance requirements are enacted by law, regulation or customer requirement, the individual must participate in the clearance process.
