What You'll Build
As an Application Engineering Manager, you'll develop transformation services in the field of enterprise data management and cloud innovation. Your team will be at the forefront of modernizing SAP's application landscape, driving the evolution from traditional on-premise systems to intelligent, cloud-native solutions. Your work will directly impact how thousands of enterprises worldwide manage and leverage their critical business data.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Drive the technical vision and roadmap for data management and application transition solutions, aligning with business objectives and customer needs
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and design to implementation, testing, and deployment
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes across the team
• Collaborate with product management, architecture, and stakeholder teams to define requirements and prioritize features
• Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams including cloud platforms, security, and customer-facing organizations
• Provide career development, coaching, and performance management for team members
• Monitor and report on team performance metrics, project status, and key deliverables
• Recruit, hire, and onboard top engineering talent to build a high-performing team
• Foster an inclusive environment that encourages diverse perspectives and collaborative problem-solving


What You Bring

Required:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• 8+ years of experience in software development with at least 5 years in an engineering management role leading teams of 15+ engineers
• Strong technical background in enterprise software development
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex, large-scale software projects in an agile environment
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Track record of building and developing high-performing engineering teams
• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills
• Experience working in distributed, global team environments
Preferred:
• Background in database technologies and data management concepts
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications
