The role: We are looking for an AI Engineering Manager within the Service Management Processes & Solutions area as Head of CSM & ITSM Generative AI Solutions. The team is responsible for the development of high-impact AI-driven products and services across SAP's Service & Support domain. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define, implement, and scale AI solutions that boost productivity and generate tangible business value across our operational processes.
What you’ll do:
You will be responsible for leading a full-stack AI engineering team of Product Owner, Architects and Engineers, which applies agile methodologies and employs technologies such as Phyton and Java. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, collaborating closely with product management and other engineering colleagues to deliver the next generation of enterprise AI solutions at SAP.Responsibilities:Take full ownership of development and engineering progress, ensuring accountability, alignment, and successful delivery of our productProvide expert technical guidance and implement best practices to drive efficient and effective product development processLead with a hands-on approach, leveraging deep technical expertise as a former engineer to inspire, guide, and support the teamActively facilitate and channel solutions for complex technical problems, fostering collaboration and innovative problem-solvingFoster the development of high-quality software that is secure, robust, scalable, and maintainable, meeting the quality assurance process and product standardsCoach and mentor engineering team members, cultivating a strong culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional growth.
What you bring:
We expect:
- Extensive experience in the software industry, with a strong background in cloud engineering and AI development.
- Expert programming proficiency in modern languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python
- Proven track record in delivering and operating cloud-native products.
- Excellent understanding of software design and architecture
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral. Experience with agile development methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of product standards such as security and performance
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and an innovative mindset.
- Outcome-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.5+ years of relevant work experience in business or technical architecture roles
- Experience in building and leading agile teams.Knowledge in the area of AI engineering, platform engineering, or Cloud Application Development
- 3+ years of leadership experience as a functional leader, architect, product owner, or people manager.
