Job Description

We’re looking for Food and Beverage Assistants at RSPB Saltholme Cafe.

Our Food and Beverage teams raise vital funds which enable us to carry out globally important conservation work in the race to save nature.

About the Role

This Role is based at RSPB Saltholme Nature Reserve, Seaton Carew Rd, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough TS2 1TU.

We are currently offering 2 x Part-Time Contracts on an 18 hours per-week basis.

Our Cafe is open 7 days of the week, including weekends and bank holidays. Shift patterns will vary and range between the hours of 8am to 5pm.

Key Skills Areas:

  • Provides a warm welcome, is helpful and friendly with a positive attitude.
  • A team-player, working together with the Cafe team and wider Reserve team.
  • Completing all daily tasks in the cafe, including preparing, serving and general cleaning.
  • Maintains food hygiene and health and safety standards in the work environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Serving customers and providing a warm, friendly welcome to the cafe.
  • Opening and closing duties, which could include helping with compliance checks and cashing-up processes.
  • Preparing and serving food and drink, including Barista-style coffee and homemade meals.
  • Performing daily checks and cleaning in the café seating and kitchen areas, sharing responsibility with the wider Café team to maintain hygiene and quality standards.
  • Monitoring stock to appropriate levels and following recipes to ensure portion control.
  • Complete all required training and be willing to work towards Level 2 Food Hygiene and Allergens Awareness training.
