Position Summary

To provide support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing Services Engineer to ensure the organisation’s objectives and goals are delivered. This Manufacturing Services Technician role is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on infrastructure equipment & services, including associated production equipment located operational or engineering facilities.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks across a broad range of infrastructure equipment and services and production equipment across a plant, site or business, to ensure that site & manufacturing equipment is safe, available and capable for use when required.

  • Proficiency with plant such as, but not limited to; ventilation equipment, LTHW systems & Gas boilers, HP Compressors and associated equipment and components. Domestic cold, hot & CAT 5 systems.

  • Utilise precision diagnostic instruments during maintenance.

  • Analyse equipment data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards maintenance, identifying opportunities and making recommendations to consistently aim for a world class productive department.

  • Collect, organise, and analyse data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required.

  • Read and interpret P&ID's, circuit/logic diagrams & schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to enable maintenance and diagnostics

  • Execute work programmes and projects including installation and system modifications.
    Suggest improvements to work instructions and standard operating procedures to optimise the maintenance strategy.

  • Ensure health and safety compliance is achieved through rigorous preventative controls and executing work to completed recommendations & actions.

  • Coordinate preventive and planned corrective maintenance activities with Production Staff, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, and Production Operators.

  • Work alongside/support equipment OEM engineers as required

Position Qualifications:

  • A time-served apprenticeship, at a NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience and qualifications.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic pneumatics principles and operation.

  • Basic IT literacy

  • Understanding of local and regional HSE Standards and regulations

Work alongside regulatory bodies & inspectors as required.

  • Consistently perform asset & equipment maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high-performance standard.

  • Support the effective induction of new team members and support cross-training of other team members.

  • Utilise problem solving skills and ability to make sound recommendations based on judgement, training and previous experience.

  • Able to process Work Orders and pull reports from the Computerised Maintenance Management System
    Safely operate site specific equipment as required with appropriate training
