At a glance:

  • Location: Cambridge

  • In-office expectation: 1 day per week

  • Employment type: Permanent

  • Salary: £45,000 – £60,000, depending on experience

  • Why this role exists: To lead and deliver Redgate's most important strategic programmes — bringing structure, clarity, and collaboration to complex projects across the business as the PMO plays a central role in shaping how Redgate works.

Redgate Software

Redgate brings together people who want to do their best work in an environment built on trust, accountability, and collaboration.

We build solutions that help data professionals securely manage the data and databases that their organisations depend on — creating ingeniously simple software that tackles complex database management challenges across the DevOps lifecycle. This is a space that's only becoming more critical as systems scale, data regulations increase, and AI adoption accelerates.

Why join our PMO?

  • Play a visible, high-impact role at the heart of Redgate's transformation — delivering strategic programmes that directly shape how the business operates and grows.

  • Work alongside stakeholders at every level, from engineering and product to commercial teams, on projects that matter.

  • Help shape the evolution of our PMO — your ideas and improvements will influence how Redgate approaches project delivery.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a variety of strategic and operational projects — from system implementations to process transformation and business change initiatives.

  • Work closely with business and technical teams to define clear goals, scope, and success measures.

  • Champion effective, outcome-focused ways of working, fostering collaboration, accountability, and consistent delivery.

  • Keep everyone aligned — managing risks, issues, dependencies, and communication with transparency and confidence.

  • Contribute ideas and improvements to the PMO's evolution, influencing how Redgate approaches project delivery.

What makes you a great fit

  • Experienced and adaptable project manager with a track record delivering a mix of technology, process, and business change projects.

  • Strong in project definition, planning, risk and issue management, and stakeholder engagement — confident leading delivery end-to-end.

  • Proven change management skills, helping teams and stakeholders navigate transformation with clear communication, empathy, and structure.

  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams including engineers, business analysts, product managers, and commercial stakeholders.

  • Skilled at communicating clearly and confidently across all levels of the organisation.

  • Experience in vendor and contract management with third-party suppliers.

  • Knowledgeable in Agile or Lean methodologies; a relevant qualification (AgilePM, PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is a plus.

  • Proactive, organised, and calm under pressure — with a "get things done" mindset and genuine enthusiasm for delivering results.

What's in it for you

  • Competitive salary £45,000 – £60,000, depending on experience.

  • Flexible working hours and hybrid options to suit your lifestyle.

  • A great benefits package, including generous leave, private healthcare, and pension.

  • Strong commitment to your learning and career development through training, mentoring, and opportunities to lead new initiatives.

  • The chance to make a visible impact on strategic projects that shape Redgate's future.

What happens next?

  • Your application will be reviewed by a person — we don't use AI or automated tools to assess applications. Every profile is read by one of our Talent Partners.

  • You'll hear back within a few days — whether it's a next step or a no, we aim to respond promptly so you're not left wondering.

  • Our interview process is straightforward and consistent — you'll find more detail on our typical hiring process below, so you know what's coming and why.
