About the Role

As a project-led Fixed Term Contract, this role’s function is to lead the successful implementation, adoption and evaluation of pet education programmes that build capability, improve performance and place welfare at the core of all colleague decision-making. Acting as the critical link between learning design and the operational retail environment, the Education Implementation Advisor works closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure learning solutions are effectively launched and embedded into Pet Care Centres, translated into sustained behavioural change, and deliver measurable outcomes for colleagues, customers, and pet welfare.

The role combines facilitation, coaching and the development of effective train-the-trainer approaches, alongside stakeholder engagement to identify capability needs, support programme implementation and maximise learning impact. The Learning Implementation Advisor ensures that new learning programmes meet both business and colleague needs, are successfully embedded at scale, and deliver measurable outcomes through effective knowledge transfer, sustained behavioural change and improved performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify capability gaps and learning needs through colleague insight, data and stakeholder engagement.
• Design and implement capability frameworks and learning pathways that support career development and business performance.
• Partner with key stakeholders across Retail, Veterinary, People and Learning teams to align learning solutions with strategic priorities.
• Facilitate workshops, listening groups and feedback sessions to shape and continuously improve learning initiatives.
• Lead the implementation of learning programmes, including train-the-trainer activities, pilot programmes and large-scale rollouts.
• Measure programme adoption, behavioural change and learning impact, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Deliver SQP training, webinars, coaching and ongoing learner support to maximise engagement and success.
• Act as a trusted learning partner, building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing positive outcomes.
• Champion a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement, while role modelling Pets values and behaviours.

About You

Education

• Animal or welfare related qualification at level 3 or above,
• Relevant qualification in adult education and training at Level 3 or above or CIPD qualified Qualified and registered C-SQP (or RQP)

Experience, Knowledge & Expertise

• Strong, demonstrable animal health, welfare and/or pet care knowledge.
• Proven experience in learning and development, capability building and/or programme management roles.
• Engaging, knowledgeable and passionate about pet care education.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and how adults acquire and apply new knowledge and skills.
• Experience of learning needs analysis and capability assessment methodologies.
• Understanding and experience of competency and capability framework design.
• Awareness of learning evaluation models and methods to measure learning effectiveness and business impact.
• Experience of organisational capability development and performance improvement through career development structures.
• Knowledge and experience of colleague engagement and feedback methodologies, including surveys, interviews and focus groups.
• Understanding of career development frameworks and progression pathways.
• Working knowledge of SQP training requirements and the AMTRA qualification framework.
• Understanding of professional responsibilities and regulatory considerations relating to companion animal health and welfare.
• Track record of delivering learning programmes at scale, including pilot and rollout phases.
• Working knowledge of equity, diversity and inclusion principles in learning.

Desirable

• Experience operating in a commercial retail environment
• Previous experience of training SQPs
• Experience designing and delivering end-to-end learning solutions, from needs analysis through to evaluation.
