Job Description

The Role

You will be the go-to person for the product and tech team and support them at every stage of a project. You’ll be a true partner to them, helping them with feature design, impact measurement and everything on the product roadmap.
You will demonstrate passion for turning data into information, with a natural curiosity for what makes an ecommerce business tick and a belief that great insight leads to thoughtful decision making. This role is the go-to for opportunities and challenges that the company faces on site optimisation and customer insights with a direct aim to drive engaging, profitable experiences.
You will be working closely with the Senior Insight Manager and the Lead Product Manager to identify opportunities to drive incrementality and develop plans that support short and long term results. Ultimately, this role is to influence the business in maximising its sales, revenue and profit potential through insight.

Accountabilities

We are looking for a customer and data-driven person who is comfortable using many different sources of data to draw a clear and relevant conclusion that can be presented and understood by non-analytical audiences. Ultimately ensuring timely, accurate and collaborative delivery of reporting and insight that enable the business and leads to optimise actions and personalise the experience for the customer. Some key tasks could include (but are not limited to):

  • Data Analysis: Dive into complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that reveal customer behaviour, market trends, and product performance
  • Product Partner: Acts as the product team's partner for all data and analytics requests. Work closely with the Product and Tech teams collaborating with them on projects from start to finish
  • Consumer Insights: Utilise a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand the customer. Their preferences, needs, and pain points, translating them into actionable recommendations.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Develop clear and concise insights that influence strategic decisions with the product department and across the business.
  • Data Champion: Championing a test and learn approach with stakeholders, helping to define testing roadmaps, structuring A/B and multivariate tests, then drawing insight and recommendations from results.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Be exposed to the commercial and marketing teams to understand their needs and support decision making where possible.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Create compelling visualisations and reports that communicate complex data in a simple and impactful manner, aiding in data-driven decision-making at all levels.

There is a real opportunity for the right candidate to make this role their own. Reporting to the Senior Insight Manager, the right candidate will be able to help develop analysts within the Insight & Analytics team, be empowered to drive change and work closely in partnership with the Product and Tech teams.

Some key skills and experience you’ll need...

Technical skills:

  • Experience: Proven track record (4+ years) in insights or data analysis roles, preferably within e-commerce or online marketplaces.
  • Good knowledge of product and proposition development as well as how to influence the product roadmap through data-based recommendations.
  • Experience with A/B testing tools such as Optimizely, conducting experiments and interpreting results to drive business and product decisions.
  • Knowledge of statistics and how to apply this knowledge in a practical sense.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in data analysis, statistical tools, and data visualisation platforms (e.g., SQL, Looker, Python, R, GA4, Optimizely).

Human skills:

  • Ability to work independently as much as co-create solutions with stakeholders, other team members and a cross functional skill set team
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to connect data insights to broader business strategies and make recommendations that drive meaningful outcomes.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Passion for Creativity: Enthusiasm for our mission of celebrating creativity and individuality through exceptional products.
