About the role

At NFU Mutual, you’ll join an Agile cloud engineering team that builds infrastructure solutions in response to business demand. Working from designs created by cloud specialists, you’ll turn agreed designs into working solutions and help modernise applications that have moved from on premises infrastructure to the cloud.

You’ll configure, develop, test and integrate cloud infrastructure, working with colleagues across technical, application and project teams. You’ll contribute through agile methodologies, strengthen automation, and help improve resilience, security and cost efficiency.

You’ll also interpret solution designs, support detailed technical design, apply new tools and approaches, document the handover of platform components into business as usual operations and help resolve live technical incidents and system problems.

Beyond the day to day technical delivery, you'll be joining a supportive team that values collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced cloud specialists, deepen your engineering expertise and play a meaningful role in NFU Mutual's cloud modernisation journey. Whether you're building on existing Azure experience or bringing transferable knowledge from another cloud platform, you'll be supported to develop your skills and grow your impact over time.

This is a permanent, full time role based in Stratford upon Avon, with 80% homeworking and 20% office based working.

This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.

About you

You’re a hands on cloud engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and turning designs into reliable working solutions. You bring an analytical approach, close attention to detail and the confidence to challenge established thinking constructively. With a strong learning mindset, you adapt as priorities change, take ownership of your contribution and work effectively within a technical team while supporting customers.

To join NFU Mutual, you’ll also bring

• Hands on experience of cloud platform operations and implementation, with Microsoft Azure preferred and transferable experience of Amazon Web Services or a comparable cloud platform welcomed


• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Bicep, Ansible or similar technologies, supported by automation and scripting capability in PowerShell


• Experience of continuous integration and delivery pipelines, including Azure DevOps and Git, together with relevant software development experience


• Experience of DevOps and Agile delivery, with awareness of ITIL practices


• Knowledge of Windows, networking and identity services, including TCP/IP, DNS and Entra ID; experience of Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Linux, Jenkins, Microsoft SQL Server or database projects is desirable
