We’re on a mission to create a diverse group of future leaders. We do that through professional apprenticeships because we believe learning on-the-job creates a more equitable and successful path to careers. We find, train and support talented individuals, wherever they are in their career journey, and equip them with the in-demand tech, software engineering, and data skills to transform their careers and deliver a better route to growth for their employers.
We’ve had some big achievements. We hit 10,000 apprentices in our community - and counting. We launched one of the largest data apprenticeship programs in the UK with Jaguar Land Rover, and we’ve partnered with companies like Mars, Verizon and CitiBank. Not to forget becoming a mission-driven EdTech unicorn after our $220m Series D.
But we aren’t stopping here. Join Multiverse and build the future of learning at work.
It’s an incredible time to join the Engineering team at Multiverse as we build an outstanding alternative to university. You have a real opportunity to shape the team - and the entire company - at a critical stage in our growth.
If you’re looking to solve compelling engineering challenges in a collaborative environment and are motivated by having a significant, genuinely positive impact on people’s lives, then we would love to talk with you.
Our goal is to provide you with encouragement and autonomy to do the best work of your career. We want to create a caring, understanding environment where everyone can thrive.
You will join our Enabler pillar, driving equity by making world-class support at work available to as many people as possible. This means providing flexible and personalised enablement features for Coaches, Apprentice Managers, Users, and more.
Your team will be building an exciting new capability that uses the generative AI stack, working cross functionally with our colleagues in Data & Insights. This forward-thinking team will provide the opportunity for you to innovate, bring your ideas to the table and see them come to life before your eyes.
You will enjoy being a Software Engineer at Multiverse if:
You want to do work that makes a difference
You want your opinion to matter
You want opportunities to learn and grow
You’ll solve real problems including:
How can we build a world-class admissions process that searches for intent and potential?
How can we improve the quality of our education while growing it internationally, at scale?
How can we make apprenticeships the preferred way of learning around the world?
Engineering comes together once a week to share learnings at informal sessions, and we encourage sharing with the wider community on our tech blog. We enjoy “10% time” where we’re free to play with new technologies, contribute to open source or simply experiment to see what we can build. We practise collaboration and prototype new ideas in quarterly team Hackathons.
We choose the right technologies and platforms for the use case - Our stack includes but is not limited to:
Elixir, React, LiveView, Typescript, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, RabbitMQ and genAI, hosted on AWS. But this doesn’t mean you need prior experience in any of these technologies. Applied, on-the-job learning is central to our mission, and our on-boarding process is designed to support the many team members who join us without experience in our stack.

You care about building reliable, accessible and well-tested systems for the web
You have an appreciation for simple, maintainable design
