Business Services Administrator (Maternity Leave Cover)

Auckland | Fixed term (6 months) | Full-time

Brilliant people trusted to do brilliant things

Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management and development consultancy working across transport, water, energy and buildings. Our people are at the heart of what we do, and we focus on creating positive outcomes for the communities we work in.

We’re looking for a Business Services Administrator to join our Auckland office on a 6‑month fixed term contract, providing maternity leave cover within our New Zealand Business Services team.

The role

You’ll support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the office and help create a positive experience for our people and visitors. Working closely with the wider Business Services team, you’ll provide practical, hands‑on admin support across a range of activities.

What you’ll be doing

  • General office and administrative support
  • Reception and first point‑of‑contact duties
  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding administration
  • Coordinating meetings and small office events
  • Assisting with tasks such as travel, expenses, timesheets and purchase orders

About you

  • Previous experience in office administration, reception or customer service
  • Well organised, reliable and comfortable juggling priorities
  • Clear communicator with good attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

What we offer

  • A supportive team and clear handover for the cover period
  • Exposure to a global professional services environment
  • Flexible working and wellbeing support
  • Benefits provided on a pro‑rata basis for the fixed term

If you’re looking for a solid short‑term role where you can step in, support the team and keep things running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.

Employee ownership

  • Our employee ownership model means no external investors, just us, creating a culture of shared success.
  • Our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, giving them a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.
  • As your career grows, so does your stake, recognising your long-term impact and contribution.
  • Your voice matters, with the opportunity to connect directly with senior leadership through formal channels to help shape our future.

Our benefits package is designed to enhance your experience:

• A flexible and agile work atmosphere that caters to your professional journey and life's special moments
• A competitive salary complemented by Discretionary Group and Personal Performance Bonuses for eligible employees
• Comprehensive coverage including life, personal accident, and salary continuance insurance, providing peace of mind during uncertain times
• Opportunities to enhance your work-life balance through the option to purchase extra annual leave
• Employee resource groups including the Inclusive Network for Women, Corporate Social Responsibility and more
