About the business unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.


Overview of the role
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Finance Department based in Madrid.

  • Perform monthly and year-end closing activities in accordance with corporate and local requirements.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly to guarantee accuracy and consistency across multiple accounting systems.
  • Maintain local statutory accounts and ensure compliance with Spanish regulations and corporate policies.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of annual statutory accounts.
  • Prepare and deliver financial information to external accountants for tax filings and statutory reporting.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits by providing all required documentation.
  • Process employee expense claims and bank payments.
  • Monitor and review employee timesheets.
  • Provide ad hoc support across the finance function and assist with other general administrative tasks.

Candidate specification
Essential:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Accounting experience, ideally including prior experience in external audit or multinational company.
  • Strong knowledge of the Spanish General Chart of Accounts (Plan General Contable).
  • Experience in reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and IFRS standards
  • Strong analytical skills, detail - oriented and fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Desirable:

  • Pursuing an internationally recognised accounting qualification

Resumen del puesto

Buscamos un/a Contable con experiencia para unirse a nuestro Departamento de Finanzas en Madrid.

Funciones y responsabilidades clave:

  • Realizar en el ciclo contable completo mensual y anual.
  • Colaborar en el cierre contable simultaneo en la ERP del grupo y reflejar/ajustar el cierre en la contabilidad estatutaria bajo el PGC.
  • Conciliar operaciones intercompany.
  • Asistir en la preparación y presentación de las cuentas anuales.
  • Preparar y facilitar la información financiera a asesores externos para declaraciones fiscales.
  • Dar soporte a auditorías internas y externas
  • Procesar las liquidaciones de gastos de empleados y los pagos bancarios.
  • Supervisar y revisar los partes de horas (timesheets) del personal.
  • Proporcionar apoyo puntual (ad hoc) en el área financiera y colaborar con tareas administrativas generales.

Imprescindible:

  • Grado en Contabilidad, Finanzas, Administración y Dirección de Empresas o campo relacionado.
  • Experiencia demostrable, idealmente con experiencia previa en auditoría externa o en empresa multinacional.
  • Sólidos conocimientos del Plan General de Contabilidad (PGC).
  • Experiencia en elaboraciones de estados financieros, conciliaciones intercompany y aplicación de NIIF (IFRS).
  • Bilingüe español–inglés (C1 o superior), con excelente expresión escrita y oral en ambos idiomas.
  • Habilidades analíticas sólidas y orientación al detalle.

Valorable:

  • Estar cursando una cualificación contable de reconocimiento internacional (p. ej., ACCA, CIMA).
