Job Description

About Motorway

Motorway is the UK’s fastest-growing used car marketplace – our award-winning, online-only platform connects private car sellers with thousands of verified dealers nationwide, ensuring everyone gets the best deal.

Founded in 2017, our technology-led approach has redefined the experience of selling a car, generating thousands of monthly car sales and helping us to grow to a team of more than 400 people across our London and Brighton offices.

We're looking for an Operations Executive (known internally as Transport and Logistics Executive). This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing scale-up at a crucial phase of growth and help change an industry for the better.

Please note that this role is based in our Brighton office, working Monday - Friday working on a shift pattern (8am - 4:30pm or 9am - 5:30pm).

About the role

Our transport service has two key elements - inspection and transport. In order to complete a car sale, the seller’s vehicle is inspected at their home, based on a fixed process set by Motorway. If the car matches the condition and specification expected, the dealer pays for the vehicle remotely, and the car is transported back to the dealership.

To make this possible, we have partnered with some of the country's leading vehicle inspection and logistics companies, who provide our network of dealers with scalable transport solutions for vehicles across the UK.

This role of Operations Advisor will involve:

  • Processing any new transport requests - ensuring that all collections and deliveries are booked in, in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with our transport partners, ensuring all external and internal communication is responded to and processed in a timely manner.
  • Dealing with any collection or delivery issues that may arise, ensuring queries are responded to within Service Level Agreements.
  • Communicating with multiple teams within the business.
  • Escalating recurring issues with your line manager for solutions to be put in place to ensure Motorway provides a hassle-free Transport service.
  • Updating Motorway's internal database to provide oversight of collection dates.
  • General administration.

Requirements

  • Excellent relationship building skills - you’ll be able to rapidly build rapport and trust, and be able to interface with people from lots of different backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Great attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Ability to use your own initiative as well as working well as part of a team.
  • Given the fast paced and dynamic nature of Motorway, you must be comfortable adapting to changing processes.
  • Experience within a logistics, customer service or administrative role is helpful but not a prerequisite.

Benefits

    • A competitive salary
    • BUPA health insurance
    • Discounted dental through BUPA
    • Discounted gym membership through BUPA
    • On-Hand volunteering membership + volunteering day
    • Hybrid working - opportunity to work from home one day a week (subject to approval)
    • Pension scheme
    • Motorway car leasing scheme - lease a zero-emissions electric vehicle at a significant discount
    • Enhanced maternity/paternity leave
    • Regular social events
    • Cycle to work scheme
