Job Purpose

To provide the site with the required level of training compliance, support and expertise. The role will liaise with all internal and external customers; ensuring the correct training focus is given and consumer confidence is retained within our products. This will require focus and responsibility for training adherence with standards, auditing and management of all training requirements in all departments. The role holds responsibility for the organization and completion of all training requirements including designing, creating, managing and delivering the site training plan (including the site training matrix) ensuring that it matches the site requirements and delivers the strategic business goals, ensuring the SOPs are always up to date and re-trained out where relevant. Assisting with external recruitment and managing the onboarding process.

Nature and Scope of the Job

  • The Training Coordinator has responsibility for ensuring all site departments and employees have the relevant training organised for them that is commensurate to their role. Also to ensure all training is tracked on a site Training Matrix that is up to date and highlights when adequate refresher training is required and completed.

  • The Training Coordinator has responsibility for analysing what training each department needs and also ensuring the right SOPs are developed, approved and used and then kept up to date for all training that takes place.

  • SOPs should also follow all legal, food safety and quality requirements the business needs to follow. Competency assessments must take place and be measured to ensure people are being trained to the correct level.

  • Challenge all departments (predominantly first layer) to ensure SOP & Training is 100% compliant.

  • Identify process gaps, articulating training and SOP accordingly.

  • Filing physical training documentation and updating all relevant skills matrices and Solvace.

  • Regular reporting on training progress for key teams and stakeholders when requested.

  • Chasing cell teams for training updates.

  • Finding quotes and booking external training Sending out training invitations to delegates.

  • Updating Solvace and all relevant skills matrices with any labour movements, joiners, and leavers.

  • Assistance with external recruitment, assessment centres and onboarding programmes for new starters; including management and tracking of probation period. Booking non-core inductions for new starters.

  • Internal recruitment and labour movement.

  • Posting advertisements for internal vacancies.

  • Assisting with creating training packages.

  • Daily comparison of utilisation report against known training taking place (via the operational training tracker) and flagging any unknown training.

  • Creating training packages for any periods of significant downtime.

  • Supporting site wide stakeholders with training creation, planning and roll out.

  • Developing training plans for individuals across manufacturing in various roles.

  • Managing and tracking completion of training.

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • The role requires the individual to have worked in a confectionary foods manufacturing environment.

  • Very IT literate and a strong and broad-based food manufacturing awareness, able to write full SOPs and complete competency testing.

  • Ideally having operated within a Training role previously.

  • Must have a thorough awareness and exposure previously to Food Safety & Quality Systems, GMP

  • Compliance standards.

  • Excellent communication and people management skills, at varying levels. Ability to communicate at board level when presenting large scale complex details.

  • An effective achiever, able to think ‘outside the box’.

  • Able to work in a controlled manner under pressure and demonstrate abilities as an influencer.

  • Strong team player, able to work on own initiative and influence all levels of site and departments.
