This position holds direct responsibility for the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance within DACH plants, providing strategic cluster program management and administration to the overarching HSE agenda. This role is responsible for leading and administering the overall Cluster HSE program by developing plans to implement the 3-year regional strategy, securing buy-in from the Cluster Leadership team for these plans, and actively driving their implementation while monitoring progress against objectives. Additionally, the individual will mentor, coach, and buddy Plant HSE teams within the Cluster, and liaise with the BU/Regional HSE team to ensure alignment with Global, Regional, and BU HSE strategy and targets, coordinating timely support for the plan. The role also provides support to Plant Managers across the Cluster. In addition, this role is responsible for providing guidance and direction for the planning and continuous development of HSE capabilities, programs, standards and tools across the BU commercial operations, including Offices, Tech Centers, Sales Forces, Distribution Centers (DCs), and CS&L Projects.

How you will contribute

You will:

• Lead and coordinate Cluster/Commercial-level HSE planning and implementation, providing expert guidance and support to HSE, commercial & sales teams and Leadership teams. Support deployment of Global HSE Standards, across DACH BU for Commercial area through developing and deploying programs and procedures, identifying current gaps and executing action plans to close them. Manage Self-Assessment Process for Offices, Sales and Tech Centers.
• Manage and coordinate the end-to-end implementation of all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs and processes. Support tracks on enhanced risk assessment (as part of the MEU HSE WCM initiative across DACH plants. Drive and validate Back to Basics program. Develop annual plant-wide HSE plans, build consensus to foster a strong HSE culture and drive cultural development.
• Ensure comprehensive risk assessments are conducted, and effective controls are implemented to mitigate or eliminate accidents, asset losses, security breaches, health problems, and environmental issues that could harm employees, contractors, visitors, assets, or the company’s reputation.
• Provide expertise to the incident investigation process, ensuring effective sharing and implementation of lessons learned. Oversee adherence to the plant’s HSE reporting process.
• Cultivate and develop HSE talent through training, mentoring, and succession planning for HSE specialists. Support ongoing HSE training and coaching within the plant to enhance understanding and drive continuous improvement of the HSE culture. Build capabilities and provide technical expertise on BOS, Ergonomics, Driver Safety and Merchandiser Safety across the BU and contractors. Strengthen HSE talent at local levels, define and promote a career path.
• Ensure rigorous compliance with regulatory requirements and Mondelez policies, driving continuous improvement against key identified HSE measures and objectives. Drive DACH region to continually reduce accident rates.
• Assure the company CBRE (global facility provider) provides all the HSE support to their contractors in the offices following all legislation requirements and the MDLZ HSE Global Standards.
• Develop and implement sustainability roadmaps specifically for energy, waste, and water reduction initiatives.
• Support the development and successful implementation of plant-level Wellbeing programs.
• Advice and lead on HSE Culture development within the Cluster. Interact with Operational and Health and Safety Committees, building employee engagement in HSE processes. Create safety as a value culture across commercial operations.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in:

• University Degree in Health, Safety or Env. field or equivalent. Internal candidates must have 3 years’ experience in MDLZ and gain H, S or E qualifications within 2 years of appointment only if required by local legislation.
• At least 7-10 years’ experience as a Health, Safety and Environmental practitioner, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated team, change and project management experience
• Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders/communities and all levels of operations
• Experience in Auditing systems
• Experience of working with other plants and cultures.
• The role demands/requires travel from time to time as per needs.

Mandatory information in Austria: The salary is graded in the Collective Labor Agreement “Information and Consulting”. If you meet the mentioned requirements the entry gross-salary for this position will be EUR 87.500,-- per year, split up in 14 pays for full-time. We’re willing to overpay, dependent on your professional work experience and qualification.





The responsibilities of this position are performed within the framework of a regional business model that is defined and managed by Mondelēz Europe GmbH, Switzerland.
